Owner description: We invite you to experience the Carolina sandhills, tucked away minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, in the historic part of Las Vegas. As you begin your Vegas golf round at Desert Pines Golf Club Las Vegas, you will feel transported from the closed-in casinos and overpowering glitz to a place where you can enjoy the fresh, calming scent of real pine trees. This Dye-designed golf course features over 4,000 mature pine trees lining the fairways with green grass running from tees to pins. White sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens fashioned after those at Augusta National Golf Club. Although there are no forced carries, four lakes will add to the excitement and beauty of your round. Spanning more than 50 hitting stations, the Practice Center is ideal for a pre-round warm-up or a stop to practice your swing. The two-level facility is covered, to protect from rain and sunlight, and features misters during summer months and heaters during the winter for ultimate comfort and enjoyment. Extended hours allow flexibility for golfers, with closing times at 11 p.m. The Snack Bar offers the delicious food served, situated conveniently next to the 10th tee box and within walking distance to the parking lot, the Practice Center provides a chance to perfect your game.

Great course for those who have played before. Greens and fairways are beautiful although narrow. Staff are excellent. If you stay at an MGM property, they may have a discount for you.

Just got back from a trip to Vegas and played golf at Desert Pines Golf Club. Definitely recommend and will visit again if I get back there.

Staff was terrific - very friendly - rates reasonable and course in slamming good shape. Had to cut our round short due to weather, and staff gave us a raincheck for 9 holes the next day.

Course was challenging with tight fairways and rolling greens, but a good mix for the average/intermediate golfer - wouldn't recommend for a beginner unless playing a scramble.

Nice lunch in the restaurant as well. Made Manhattan Clam Chowder - a favorite!

When a Golf Course like Desert Pines is more beautiful than the website displays, you know you are in for a great treat. From the moment we parked our vehicle, Michael Dahlstrom met us in front of the Club house, welcomed us in like we were someone special. He stayed with us and gave us tour, explained to the people in the Pro Shop the terms of our arrangement, offered some specials with explanations like "Beat the Pro" on a selected hole and was just fabulous overall. Actually, the whole staff at Desert Pines was simply stated, OUTSTANDING. This was, for me, the best Golf Course I've ever had the pleasure of playing on. My only regret was not getting a Tee Time earlier as it got dark and we couldn't finish the last 5 holes. This course is everything the website says it is and much, much more. If you're a Golfer, and IF you go to Las Vegas, you absolutely must play Desert Pines.

This course really is a fabulous course. It is very tight with the front none tight and the back nine terribly tight. We got off as the second group that day. We booked via tee-times and that worked out just fine. Most holes I would keep my driver in the bag using a fairway wood or a long iron off the tee box. This course is very much about course management. It is very playable. The starter informed us that the grounds keeper had just finished over-seeding so cart path only was the rule du jour. As any player knows, a Pete Dye course is almost always uneven with plenty of hidden greens and false fairways. Desert Pines is no different. My only complaint was the constant up-selling from the club house desk selling the yardage books to the starter selling caddy services to the used car salesman on the first par three selling an opportunity to double your bet if you hit the green. Very tacky and so while I get the impression that Las Vegas is trying to raise their public image; this behavior does not help the greater good.

Played Desert Pines with 3 buddys I have not seen for a long time. The staff was right on with bag service and smiles. Golf shop staff set the expectation of a smooth round and great conditions. They were right on. Played in 4 hrs, and the greens were amazing. the cart girl was awesome. The 4 of us will make this an annual event! Thanks Desert Pines!
