We had been looking foward to our evening at Vegas! The Show. A show about the history of Vegas - that sounded reallly interesting!
We bought same day tickets for about 50$ each for unreserved seating and were told to show up at the theatre one hour in advance.
We did. When we arrived, we were asked to exchange our tickets first... I didn´t really see why, but we queued up. There were just few people but it took quite a while. When it was our turn I understood: we were asked a lot useless questions and tried to convince us to upgrade our "normal" tickets into "premium" ones. We would have earlier access to the theatre and would get better seats. We didn´t want to and were send to a long queue outside the theatre.
Here we had to wait for a long time and didn´t enjoy it since we already had a busy day in Vegas. A couple of minutes before the show we finally got access to the theatre. Our seats were perfectly fine. In fact, all of them were. So the premium charge seems to mainly about avoid the annoying access procedures of the theatre.
The show started. The first scene met my expectations since it suggested the start of a story about Vegas. Cool! But I was not sure about the speaking and singing of the artists.... was this really a live show?! Everything seemed just too artificial.
The show went on with another song and another song and another song and another song and another song....and so on. I got confused, but had to realize there was no story at all.
The songs were just put together without any sort of context.
What a shame, because a great story could have been made about the topic.
Worst of all, it seemed pretty obvious by the end that we hadn´t seen live performances.
I didn´t expect such a poor standard from a Vegas-Show and I haven´t seen any other shows there. Not sure if I want to.
Maybe they just expect people to be very tired..... or very drunk.
