The early meet up for this trip is a killer but it is totally worth it.

The trip starts with stunning views of the base of the Hoover Dam, before kayaking down stream on nice calm waters to visit a spooky sauna cave, hot spring waterfall, stunning scenery, with a few quirky tales of the hoover dam hermit.

The kayaking is easy to pick up, the first time climbing in is the worst but after that its plain sailing or paddling.

The staff were all excellent, Leanne our guides bubbly enthusiasm and local knowledge made the trip even better, and she made sure everyone was well looked after from start to finish.

I would really recommend this to anyone who wants to have a little adventure whilst seeing a world landmark. Teenage children would love this to but its not really for anyone younger in my view.

I would love to do this again one day when my kids are older.

Mark

I like to start early in the morning 'cause you can tell people almost anything and they believe you.
LOL well kind of kidding! It sounds like you had a great time, thank you for sharing about your tour on the Colorado River. We also have 1/2 day kayak tours on Lake Mead that your kids would love!

Our full day kayaking trip starting at the base of the Hoover Dam on the Colorado River was supurb. In addition to the perfect kayaking, the side hikes to hot springs waters was unique and great fun. Our leader, Scott was very knowledgeable and pleasant company. Even the food provided was great!

Having previously resided in Vegas for three years, I did not encounter nor know of such an adventure. I flew into Vegas for a business trip and my wife wanted to do something different. Thanks to trip advisor, we found an adventure. We participated in the Hoover Dam kayaking experience. Rod picked us up at our hotel promptly at 550am, and then went on our way towards the Hoover Dam. We were accompanied by another couple which made the experience enjoyable, which gave us the opportunity to get to know our kayaking group. Plus we didn't have to rush through the motions and took our time to savor the sights and ambiance. Our tour guide was Mike, whom was humorous, pleasant, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable of the history of the dam. We are amateurs in the kayaking scene and this is an experience we will never forget. Well worth the trip, time and energy we put into it. We recommend this trip to anyone wanting to try something different, besides gambling and feeding the casinos. My wife and I did not experience any soreness afterwards.

From begining to end, this was an experience of a lifetime and a "must do" if you love the outdoors. The team from Evolution Expedition were the best! From the minute I called to inquire about the trip, they were so helpful and super friendly- customer service at its best. The team set up and brokedown everything and the equipment was in great shape and condition. The guides were so much fun and made the trip down the river extra special due to their knowledge of the area, fun spririt and down to earth nature. Go to the website to see what you can do and what they have avaialbe. You actually get to do all that is posted and then some. Our "some" was to see a couple of Bald Eagles fly and land right next us.....Ah-mah-zing!

This is a great trip if your in Las Vegas. It is about an hour outside of Vegas with Hotel pickup provided there and back. It is an active trip, and is full particiaption and paddling. The guide was great and the trip was a great workout. The trip starts at the base of the Hoover Dam, with photo ops of the dam. This is an active trip wiht 11 miles of flat water kayaking. The trip include several stops to catch a break and se the hot springs in the area. I would recommend this trip, my only caution is that it is not a sit back and ride trip, but a great active day, wear sunscreen and wet/dry clothing.
