When I think of Las Vegas, I don't think of golf right away. I got the opportunity to try out this beautiful course as part of a group of 30. Not being the best golfer, I really enjoyed this course and the many challenges it presented to me.

I (18 handicap) played 18 holes at Arroyo on 1-5-13 with my son (12 handicap). Great layout with some serious elevation changes. Not what comes to mind when you're playing in Vegas. A regular joined us and was extremely helpful with course management. The fairways were in great shape and most of the greens were as well. For the price, $100 for 18 with a cart and range balls, it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice course in Vegas. Clubhouse is really nice and the food (breakfast) was good and reasonably priced. Only oddity is that the driving range is about a half mile from the clubhouse but they drive you over in a cart and pick you up when your starting time is getting close. The round was a little over 5 hours, but having a local with us helped the time on the tees pass quickly.

Had privilege of playing Arroyo during a scramble event. Greens were in excellent shape as were the fairways. Beautiful scenery and layout. Be prepared to "travel" from some greens to the next tee as this course covers a lot of ground! Staff was friendly and helpful. Hope to play it again someday.

Great golf course about 15 minutes from the strip in Vegas. Staff was very helpful and courteous. We played in the afternoon and only saw 2 other people on the course so it wasn't crowded. Fairways and Greens were in great condition. Will definitely play here again!

I have played the Arroyo Golf Club many times. The course conditioning is typically good, though like any course there can be good months and bad months. One thing I like is that the holes look harder than they play. There are some very tough courses in the Las Vegas area and this is one that can give you a confidence boost, especially if you are hitting the ball well. A record low score could be in the works.

Another nice thing I like about Arroyo is that its elevated location on the west side of the valley gives some great Strip views from some of the holes. And, the houses on the course are very nice. There is no slum housing here. You also get wonderful views of the Red Rock mountains in the near distance.

A weird thing is the routing of the course; once you are out there you do not go back to the clubhouse, so you need to take advantage of the beverage cart when it makes its way around. Also, the guest service agent meets you at the 18th green to clean your clubs, so if you're a cheapskate you can't just drive to your car to avoid having to tip the poor guy. I like that.

Arroyo is definitely worth a round or two during the year if you live in Las Vegas.
