Iused to go to Michaels when it was almost a secret in the Barbary Coast Casino and it has always been an experience. Attentive waters in tuxedos anticipating your needs with great food done in a friendly way.

Wonderful service and exceptional cuisine. The escargot blew us out of the water. Decor is way old world but comfortable. We're going back!

I went very much out of my way to dine at Michael’s because there are so few places left in the U.S. where traditional, “old school” dining can be found. Tableside preparation was quite nicely done, but without real flare. I had two courses prepared tableside. Hot spinach salad dressing was a too heavy and oily. Entree was good. If you want a big-time throwback to old dining room protocol and menu, right down to the red velvet and lace doily table coverings, you’ll enjoy it.

We travel to Vegas & stay at the Bellagio almost every year so we wanted to try something different. We thought the 15 minute cab ride to get there wouldnt be so bad becuase we read some other reviews & saw the menu online. The restaurant is in a weird location, within South Point casino which is not much to look at, inside or out (no one dressed up in this casino & minimums at the tables were $1). It was difficult to find the restaurant once you are in the casino. We had to ask 2x since there is no signs above that points you in the right direction. It was so dark in the restaurant it seemed like we stepped into a funeral home. The lights were dim, the rug was dark red, the chairs were dark red, even the walls in the ladies bathroom was red. When we walked in the waiteres were all standing around, as if waiting for someone to drop a fork so they would have something to do & there was no maitre 'd in front. The bartender said to us "the maitre 'd will be right back". No smile, no apology. We had an 8:30pm reservation but it wasnt needed...the place was so empty I thought we should be able to sit ourselves anywhere or have a waiter take us to our table. We were seated at one of these big booths with red velvet cousins (looked like something out of 1972). the waiter gave me a menu with no prices & gave my boyfriend the menu with the prices (I guess they are being old school). One of my favorite dinner dishes when I go out is veal malenese WHICH WAS $72! no i am not exagerating!! When you first sit down they give you a huge dish that is supposed to be cold antipasta but it had cucmbers, olives, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, and raw zuchini sticks (not very tasty to me but my boyfriend seemed to like it). They dont give you bread, they brought what looked like matza. we asked for bread & they said that is what they offer instead. all sides were a la cart so you had to pay more. a bottle of chardonney wine that we normally get at home (in NJ) for $60 was $140. They brought over a display whcih looked like they were going to cook our meal table side. instead they were heating it up. They brought out our meals already prepared then he heated it up on the fire before serving it to us. The whole experience was extremely weird & certainly not worth the money. the waiters dont even look happy to be there.

It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your meal at Michael's. It does not seem that it was the experience you were looking for on your vacation. I am sorry for your disappointment.

I would like to note that the South Point does not have $1 minimums on our table games. In addition, Veal Milanese is not an item on the menu at Michael's.

We found this place through googling and even though it was a 15 min cab ride it was worth it. When i first looked at the menu i thought the prices were high but the steaks that we orderd were a good size and cooked to our liking. The service was 5 star and we will recomend Michael,s to all our friends that go to Vegas
