“Plenty of variety”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

I have stayed at Southpoint several years for a convention. They do a good job removing the smoke from the air but you still feel it after several hours in the casino. The slot machines appear to be friendly. There is a variety of restaurants ranging from a Steak and Shake to Mexican.
The best deal in town is the 75 cent hotdog in sport betting area. The whole place seems quieter than the places on the strip.

“The best for betting horse racing”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

We visited South Point casino after hearing about it on TVG - the horse racing channel. South Point is a large casino 6 miles south of Mandalay Bay on Las Vegas Blvd. We were very pleasantly surprised at the size and the number of attractions there. There is a huge sportsbook and a separate, large area devoted just to horseracing. There are numerous table games with low limits, and thousands of slot machines, with a large percentage of them video poker. The slot machines are older, but the payouts seem better than on the strip. The people were very friendly and we ended up going back three different times during our stay. There are many other things to do there as well, including a 32 lane bowling alley, 16 screen movie theatre, a bingo hall, and several different types of restaurants. We will definitely go back.

“Great off the strip casino”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Easy to get to, nice casino. Their buffet is good and reasonably priced. They have numerous theaters and provide great discounts for seniors. One of our favorite casinos.

“Cleaner air than most, as the hotel is newer.”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

This is a Cowboy hotel, as the owner & his wife make it so. Lots of horse events. I saw Polo matches their in November. It does have excellent Regal movies, bowling, and food. Stay away from the Spazmotics show, it is horrible and no way near the $5 cover charge I paid for real music.

“South Point off the Strip”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

A nice casino outside of town. I bit of a ride to get there but it was worth the trip.
They offer a shuttle service from various hotels on the strip for $8 round trip. Takes a little more time but saves on a $30 plus cab ride one way. The casino is larger than expected with numerous options for food. Large bowling area for family fun and also a large movie options
