Last week I stayed at the Vdara with my mom for 3 nights. Our trip was to see Tom Jones and The Phantom of the Opera. We love Vegas and travel here once a year. Compared with The Mirage, Palazzo, and Caesars, Vdara was by far the best. It was as if we were staying at a luxurious hotel in Mexico or Caribbean but in the middle of Vegas!

When you walk in you smell this amazing aroma. Then there is a bar, and lobby, everything is quiet, you do not have 1,000 people bumping into you, no line, nice people at the check in counter.

Our room was on the 41st floor, overlooking the pool and mountains. I have had better views at other hotels but the room is what made everything just great. We had a Vdara Suite, 811 sqft, full kitchen and fridge, living room, bedroom, and large bath. The Bed was very comfortable, great pillows and blankets. The air conditioning worked very well. If you need plates or anything they will bring them right up for you, just call the day you get there and you won't need to worry about it.

Pool was amazing! If you like to tan, you will enjoy it here. It is located on the 3rd floor, so you don't need to walk through a casino like all of the other hotels to get to it. There is no one there, plenty of lounge chairs, you can have as many towels as you would like, and they have water and cups out at all times. They also pass around amazing margaritas and pink lemonades for free, very refreshing. It gets very hot though, say it is 105 in Vegas, it is 130 in between the glass hotels in the City Center! I loved it!

The Vdara is connected from a sky walk to the Bellagio, literally a 1 minute walk. It also is a 1 minute or less walk to the Aria, you just walk on a pathway outside. Aria is a very nice hotel also! It does not take long to get to the strip. You can walk through either hotel (Bellagio or Aria). Vdara is set back exactly in line with Bellagio, so the distance from the Bellagio to the strip is the same as the Vdara to the Strip. Believe me it is no big deal!

If you go to Vegas and want to see Phantom of the Opera, I suggest getting the cheapest seats possible because it wasn't worth the 175 per person for 2nd row that we spent. The show bored me, people literally were falling asleep around us. The week before we went we saw Wicked, and that blew Phantom away! Next time I am there I will spend my money on a Cirque show , maybe 'O'.

I will be returning to Vdara, it is my favorite hotel is Vegas!

We recently stayed at the Vdara for our honeymoon. This was my first trip to Vegas, and the town and hotel surpassed my expectations. I had a preconceived notion of Vegas as faux-glitz and showgirls. This hotel has a very nice, luxe, understated feel. I enjoyed the sleek and modern furnishings, and our whole experience was great. My husband and I have both traveled quite a bit, and we both agree that this is our new favorite place to stay. Our room on the 38th floor had a view of the Bellagio fountains, which was a great bonus. Check in was fast (but we arrived really late at night, so I would have been really surprised if there had been a line). We knew ahead of time that there would be a $15/night "resort fee" to allow access to the gym and pool and provide a daily newspaper, bottled water, and Aveda toiletries. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that this would also include our daily valet parking (except tip). It was also very convenient to have a kitchen and table in the room. There is a Whole Foods about a mile down the road, so we went there for some breakfast foods and snacks. It's easy to request dishes and silverware from the front desk when you need them. The glass shower and separate soaking tub were great. The room has cool motorized shades/curtains that you control with a button. Bed was very comfortable. Large flat-screen TV. Plenty of drawer/closet space. Lap-top sized safe was easy to use. We loved that the hotel was smoke-free and gaming-free. That made everything so nice and quiet and peaceful even though you are just moments from the action of the strip. It's attached to the Bellagio by a walk-way, and it is also accessible to the tram. The pool was quiet as well, and the waiter was walking around with free samples of frozen pink lemonade and non-alcoholic daquiris. We will definitely stay again when we go back to Vegas. OH! One last thing, there is a button by your door that you have to push to light it up if you want housekeeping to turn your room. We weren't aware of that the first day or two, and we were perplexed about why our room was being skipped.

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend on 08/07. Despite some bad reviews here, we thought we would give it a try.
Checked in was fine and smooth. Got a room at 35th floor.
Found the sink in the bathroom was not working. Called housekeeping and got corrected immediately.
After dinner and show on same day, we came back to our room around 11:30 PM. Checked the minibar and found nothing inside except complimentary water bottles, food left from previous guests that not removed by the housekeeping. We found it was odd that nothing inside the minibar and checked the hotel directory/info book. There was price list of minibar. We called the front desk and spoke with AJ at midnight and informed what was going on.
AJ noted on our bill to make sure we won't get charged for the minibar food that we didn't consume. We also told him that there was no hairdryer inside the room and have looked everywhere. Hair dryer was brought up the next morning by housekeeper but again we had to call the housekeeping service.

Silk Road restaurant: had our sun brunch. Food was decent but service was a bit slow.
Restaurant not open for dinner.

Checked out time: this was the worst part. Went to front desk and assisted by Caitlin.
She gave a bill which accumulated of all the minibar charges total $92. We told her that we didn't consume the food. She said it was noted on the file by AJ and told us that we were only responsible to pay for the resort charges (we prepaid the room through expedia). We told her the statement of $92 was confusing since we were only supposed to pay $33 for resort fees. Then she said accusingly/rudely that if the minibar food was moved around then their system will pick up all the charges. We told her again about our conversation with AJ and she acknowledged that she saw that on their system. There was no apology of the inconveniences that we had during our stay- we told her we encountered couple of issues (hair dryer etc). She was not bothered to even look at us when we mentioned these matter to her- completely ignored us. She even didn't even bother to thank us for staying in their hotel--took our credit card and completed the transaction.

Upon leaving, we brought our concerns to the counter manager. We also sent an e-mail through their website.
We don't believe this hotel is a 4-5 star hotel. We could understand there could be some hiccups since they are brand new. However, Bad customer service is one thing that unacceptable in service industry.

This will be our first and last stay with Vdara. We would rather stay at Bellagio or Wynn.

I booked a suite for one night so the wife and I could get away from the house for a day (we live nearby), and found a special posted on Facebook. There were some negative comments on Facebook that didn't really seem to make sense ("off-strip", "boring"?) so I was a bit hesitant. It's CityCenter, you can't be much more on the Strip without sleeping on the median in the middle of Las Vegas Blvd, and that itself cast enough doubt on those comments for me to book the room.

After checking in and exploring, I think I get the comnents: there's no casino in the building, and it's offset behind the rest of CityCenter and kind of hidden from the actual street. But, again, it's right in the middle of CityCenter so, in my mind, Vdara is a perfect mix of a quiet place to sleep and hang out while being within steps from the action (Bellagio and Aria were maybe fifty yards in either direction, and Crystals is just a bit further but there is a free tram between the three). Apparently the bar does close at 2am, but, again, you're just around the corner from plenty of alternatives.

The room was great: clean, well-appointed with full-size appliances, and very quiet. We had a view of the Bellagio fountains in one direction and the Bellagio pool in another (as well as the unused pool in what I assume is a CityCenter condo building).

Room service was pricey, but they don't just drop the food off--they set up our kitchen like a little restaurant and asked when they could return to clean up for us. Food was very good. Malted Belgian waffles were unique, but very good (almost too sweet, though, more like a pastry than a regular waffle). Breakfast burrito weighed about 3 pounds. I still, however, give them 5 stars for price since we really just wanted the room, and room service was an unplanned impulse thing we tried since we saved money on the room.

All staff we interacted with were professional and helpful--concierge, front desk, MoD, and room service.

Lastly, the room was a great value--it was an advertised special of 10% off, but it was still almost 40% cheaper than every other nearby (wanted to be close to the Paris for a show) casino that I price-checked on the web before booking, including, if memory serves, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM, Bellagio, Monte Carlo, Paris, and NYNY.

Was very happy with the experience, would definitely recommend to friends and family coming through town. We stayed at the Palms earlier this year, and Vdara blew them away. If you don't need to be able to push money into a slot machine within six steps of the elevator door but still want to be right in the middle of pretty much everything you could want on the Strip, Vdara is worth checking out.

My team and I had a wonderful experience in the Vdara, which is one block off the Strip but only a 5 minute walk to the Bellagio over an enclosed skywalk. The staff were unbelievably trained, efficient and personable. The service was top notch, even pampering. Nevertheless, the best part about Vdara is how quiet and serene the hotel is - check-in took 3-4 minutes with no line like at every other property in LV - but literally 5 minute walk from all the action. Restaurant in the hotel is really good, as are the cafes in the Aria behind the Vdara. Rooms were spotless.

Vdara has wonderful rooms. I found a great deal through lasvegasforcheap.com and stayed there for $75 a night over the weekend. It was January, but this is still a great rate.

The room was separated into a living room and bedroom. The living room had a pullout couch and its own tv. The bedroom also had its own tv.

The bathroom was awesome. It was very large, had a tub, and a shower.

The main problem with Vdara is that it is far from the Strip. The best way to get to Las Vegas Blvd. is to go through Bellagio, which will take at least 15 minutes. The nearest casino is Aria, but getting to the Strip that way is also annoying. Perhaps it will be better when the Cosmopolitan opens in December because that will add another casino to City Center.

Overall Vdara is wonderful, and the hotel is great. The only problem is the distance to the Strip. There is a $15 resort fee per night. So consider that when booking because it will not be included in your reservation.

The minute we stepped foot in this hotel we relaxed. Las Vegas is crowded, noisy, and busy, but the Vdara is like an oasis of calm luxury. They don't have gambling or a lot of restaurants and shopping so it's so much more quiet than any other hotel we walked through in Las Vegas. Every room is a suite and we loved going into our room after a day and/or night on the strip. We had a great view of the Bellagio fountains and the most delicious bed, towels, decor, and service.
