“Great Vegas property”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

We attended a conference in Las Vegas recently and it was hosted by the Vdara. I normally hate Vegas because of the resounding stupidity and depravity of humanity that seems to infect people as soon as they arrive in town so, needless to say, I wasn't enthused about going there to attend the conference.

The Vdara changed all of those feelings for the future. The hotel is quiet, conveniently located, and doesn't smell like an ashtray. There is no gaming in the building and the rooms are very quiet. The decorations and fixtures in the rooms are on par with most other "resort" or higher end properties that we've stayed at and we liked the valet service that the property requires you to use. If you want coffee in the morning from Starbucks just make sure that you are there early or the line will literally be a mile long!

This place makes a stay in Las Vegas tolerable! Very well done Vdara!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the fountains, it is amazing to watch them at night!

I was pleasantly surprised on how great this hotel is. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They treat my puppy like a king and even gave him his own amenity. I've stayed at many different hotels in Vegas and the room and the amenities are nicer than anywhere I've stayed. They are modern and elegant and the beds are so comfortable I didn't want to get out of it in the morning.

We stayed at the Vdara Hotel Dec 29 through Jan 3 , 2014 . The room was very clean the view was fantastic . We were on the 55th floor so we could see the whole strip and valley . We met friends at the Vdara neither group stayed here before and were not disappointed . The Vdara is in City Center so it's just a short walk to everything ... We just can't wait to go there again ! The best was no smoke smell in the building it was refreshing to say the least . Our valet David was the best he helped us get to the Stratosphere Hotel New Years Eve when nothing was going in or out of the Vdara .

If you're expecting the Aria, it's not. While the room is bigger, I typically get a suite, the room finishes are not the same. Gone is the automation but you do get a washer and dryer and that was helpful on this trip. The negative part and the reason for the low score was that the room was very dirty. It was so dirty that someone had to clean if before I could stay in it. It was as if a frat party trashed the place. The walls are still dirty and the hall edges of the carpet show nasty corner dirt that's kind of gross. The walls have what looks like dried champaign and I won't say what I think is on the chairs. The view on our floor is terrific with glass on three sides and that's a plus, but the nastiness of the furniture, and the stains on the chairs makes the place a bit gross. This is a case of a hotel manager doing a sloppy job in their role. They should be inspecting these rooms occasionally and setting the operating standard, yet either the manager doesn't care or it's not happening. This is another case, similar to the cafe where numbers show cut corners and I blame senior management for this nonsense. There is no bigger symptom of someone inept somewhere in the management chain causing the standards to be so low. No excuses this place does not deserve a high rating.

Room Tip: Be prepared for gross.

Yes, Vegas is a great experience - Disneyland for adults - but for many people it can be affected by the constant smoke and the monotonous clink of the slot machines. This hotel is fairily new, beautifully appointed, great value for the price and, most importantly, is not home to a casino even though it's right on the strip. So if you want some reprieve I would highly recommend it.

I stayed at the Vdara while at a conference in Las Vegas. The rooms are modern, neat and functional. There were two desks in my room, which was nice, plus a sofa and coffee table that I never used. The window blinds are automated, which is nice because there are big beautiful windows across the width of the room. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. I loved the bathroom. There was plenty of counter space, a nice shower and a lovely huge soaking tub. The rooms also had a kitchenette with a burner and fridge. It was a great place to stay for business and you didn’t have to go through a casino to get to the rooms. Also just downstairs was a coffee shop, which made for a great place to pick up coffee and a quick breakfast! It also has a separate, and shorter, cab line from the Aria. Besides the Aria on the one side, it’s a short walk to the Bellagio on the other side. It made it easy to get to a lot of places! I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Odd numbers from 001 to 0023 face the front of the hotel.

In December 2012, my travel agent booked a stay at Vdara. No smoking. No casino. Beautiful suite with separate dining/kitchen, living room, bedroom, and gorgeous bathroom. So, for a return to Vegas, this time for New Year's 2013-14, why not Vdara again? Expecting the same luxury, I was sorely disappointed.

The suite was smaller. No dining area in the kitchen but rather in the bedroom. No flat screen dividing the living room and sleeping area. A huge bathtub with a small shower. And since the stay was over the holiday, the room is over double the previous price.

On the positive side, the location is ideal. The view from the window this time around was less than exciting: Penn and Teller painted on the side of whatever venue in which they perform.

The trip was booked through US Airways...should have known better. Never again. As one of my companion travelers once said, "US Air...where vacations go to die."

Room Tip: Check and make sure that your suite has the dining table in the kitchen. Also, get a room with the...

Dear Jazapsu,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It is disappointing to know your stay this time around did not meet the expectations of your first stay with us at Vdara. On behalf of the hotel I would like to apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. We have two types of our Deluxe suite here at Vdara, one with the divider like your previous trip, and one with the open floor plan like on your most recent stay. Our reception staff should have tried to accommodate your preference. Thank you for being a loyal customer of Vdara and I hope you will stay with us again soon.

Best Regards,
Conor
