“Lovely non-gaming hotel”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

A beautiful hotel without the noise and smells of the casinos. We stayed in an executive corner suite and it was gorgeous! Try to get rooms on the higher floors for the best views! The deep bathtub had a view of the strip while bathing...it was divine! The walk to the strip can be deceiving as it looks like it should only be a short walk but it actually takes about 15 minutes to get out of the hotel and onto the strip! I would stay here again though just because it's eco-friendly and quiet!

We stayed at Vdara for 6 nights for our honeymoon and reserved a Deluxe Suite. We checked-in easily and our room was beautiful. We requested to be on a higher level floor with a view of the strip. The view provided was of the Bellagio fountains which was beautiful at night. Following our wedding, we had the top layer of our cake that needed to be refrigerated, but the box would not fit into our small refrigerator. The staff coordinated and upgraded us to a suite with a full-size refrigerator for free. All of the staff was very attentive and helpful. A staff member was always on duty to check that people entering the elevator bank had a valid room key. This made me feel secure and that the craziness of Las Vegas was left in the lobby. Since the hotel does not have a casino, the air quality is great and everything is clean and fresh. The hotel is connected to Bellagio and a short walk to Aria. We also used the tram to Monte Carlo a lot which made the location convenient.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher up floor with a view.

I really enjoyed the location of the hotel as it was set back from the noise of the strip and was very quite at night, with a fantastic view from my apartment which was the cheapest at this resort. Comfortable bed and nice lounge area, stunning bathroom with heaps of towels. Easy to get to the free Monorail which ran to the Monte Carlo Hotel, and access to the Bellagio Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The TV'S worked properly which does not happen often in Hotels with a great range of Channel including sports.

I have stayed at Vdara twice in a span of 3 years and the building is still in great shape, which shows that it is being well-maintained. Rooms are very clean, although if you don't get a suite, you will feel that it is quite small compared to what you saw online. If possible, request a higher floor with a view. However, having been here before, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed.

Service at reception, concierge, spa and housekeeping were all friendly and professional. No complaints.

Note that facilities at Vdara are limited - there is only one café with few meal choices, although they also sell convenience store type items. The pool is small but we had no issues finding lounge chairs. No one came around to offer us a drink, which was slightly disappointing, but not a huge deal for us. The pool could definitely use a mid-day clean-up as there was some grubby stuff on the bottom (i.e. bandaids).

The gym and spa are sufficient: clean and relaxing. We paid the small fee (compared to booking a full service) to use the spa facilities for a day - if you have a late flight or an extra day of vacation, I would highly recommend planning this into your itinerary! Just a few hours is needed to help you unwind and nap.

Location was not an issue for us as we do not mind the walk to the strip. Aria is so close and has everything you need!

Yes its a beautiful hotel, some of the staff were great, especially the ladies on concierge, the location is fantastic and we had a fabulous week.........until we came home to find that they have taken $500 from our credit card. I must add my husband and i paid for everything in cash and had no idea they would ask for a credit card for 'security' when we checked in. We happily obliged once we were reassured that not one penny would be charged to this credit card, by not one but two members of staff.
Even when we checked out and paid our room bill in cash they assured us nothing would be taken from the visa
LIES ALL LIES!!!!
We now have the great difficulty of an 8 hour time difference, a visa company that wont speak to vdara as they are not the customer and both the hotel and visa saying its not their fault.
Promises of a manager calling us back have not materialised, our visa company has now confirmed we will be charged interest, dealing with this has completely ruined our one week away in vegas.
A formal complaint is being made via our travel agent and possible fraud case against the vdara on our credit cards behalf is looming. Disgraceful.
Finally i might add, the vdara have confirmed they have made an error, actually taking the money when they where only meant to hold it against the card.......this somehow makes it worse though, them admitting they made a mistake butt hen doing NOTHING to rectify it.....

Dear Jode77,

Thank you for taking the time to document your concerns. I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this billing issue has caused you. I assure you it was not the intention of the hotel to tie up your funds during the authorization process. I can definitely understand your frustration with having this issue occur while traveling and the last thing we want is a billing issue to ruin your otherwise great stay here at Vdara. A member of our guest relations team will be reaching out to you to gather more information on your reservation and look into the matter personally. Once again I apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can resolve the issue is a timely manner.

Best Regards,
Conor

We were in Vegas for a quick “girly” getaway. After some research we booked Vdara and were quite happy with our choice. The hotel is “all suites”, so we had plenty of room, guaranteed separate beds, spacious bathroom where the two of us could get ready for a night out without hitting each other’s elbows. The location is right in the City Center, with no direct access to the Strip, so we either walked through Bellagio, walked to Aria or took an air tram (goes to Aria, City Center shops and Monte Carlo). We were upgraded to a premium view suite on the “Bellagio” side, high floor and view of the fountains – nice bonus!

You have to have the right expectations in order to truly enjoy your stay. First of all, you can’t treat this as a regular 5-star hotel. It’s basically a luxury condo complex, with some amenities and some level of service. So service is a bonus and you have to request it. You have to call in to request: bath robes, utensils, plates, glasses, sometimes even water. Be prepared to wait. We asked our second bed to be made and gave the housekeeping ample time (while we were out to see a show) and instructions regarding the type of padding. Everything was done perfectly when we came back. However, the glasses and utensils took about 2 hours to get, so think ahead!

The pool is rather small and enjoyable only when it’s half-empty. However, with Vdara room key you can get access to Monte Carlo’s pool (much bigger, with shade, easy river, etc.). We also heard reports of people getting into Aria and MGM’s pools. When we asked the hotel concierge, she gave us pool passes only for “Liquid” – the adult-only party pool in Aria. Monte Carlo’s pool was not bad: one day there were high winds and Vdara pool attendants would not open the umbrellas, so there was zero shade. Monte Carlo has natural shade from the building and it’s a much larger pool as well.

Food options at Vdara are scarce. We have not attempted room service (after 2-hour wait for glasses), so it’s down to the Market Café and the bar. Market Café is not set up to handle the morning crowd. When we lunched there at an odd time (so there were three people total eating there), everything was prompt and courteous. Same people seemed to be completely overwhelmed by hoards of people storming in for morning coffee (it’s a 55-story hotel). There is a small convenience store and the actual café that share the same registers. Again, however, there are Aria and Bellagio very close by and you have a fridge in your room, so picking up something in advance or going someplace else is not a problem.

We pre-checked in early (around 11 am), so there were no crowds yet and we were called on the phone when the room was ready (we already had the keys). We also opted for a 3 pm late check-out (extra $30.00 well worth it), which we negotiated over the phone, so again, never had to stand in line in the crowded lobby.

As a summary: think ahead, avoid “bottleneck situations” and get a good deal on the price! For the right money will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: We had room #38 - view of the Bellagio fountains from the very right window. Rooms with a better vie...

The Vdara is quite a modern hotel. Our room was very spacious, large sitting area and kitchen area in addition to the bedroom area! Wonderful view of the Bellagio Fountains and the strip.
Location was convenient, access to the Bellagio and tram system.
Very nice pool area. Although the pool service was friendly, it took a while to get waited on. There was only one person taking care of the entire pool area.
