“Great Experience”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Vdara was an upscale and modern hotel that provided a relaxing environment. The hotel is beautiful and offers great amenities for all to enjoy. The gym and spa are top notch with all of the latest equipment. The central location of the hotel on the Vegas strip made it easy to visit all that Las Vegas has to offer. The Cirque De Sol at this resort was the best that I have seen in Las Vegas, I would recommend it to anyone that visits this hotel.

We stayed here for 5 days end of August 2013. This is a great new property located on the central strip without a Casino. Great for families. We had a Corner suite with a full kitchen and amazing view. Excellent value for money.

Pros
No Smoking
No Casino
Large contemporary suites
Free Parking - Valet
Full kitchen facility, Washer/Dryer
Bellagio walking distance 2min from within hotel
Aria and Crystals shopping centre next door

Cons
Rooms dusty - think the A/C generated the dust
Sofa bed broken (missing link springs) so sagged - This was rectified day 3, but I had to chase staff 3 times
Had to request Cutlery, Utensils, Dishwasher tablets

Not related to the hotel but in Las Vegas everyone thinks there entitled to a tip for doing the smallest task required by there job. This got annoying after a while. Take plenty of dollars in cash for tips.

I feel this hotel would benefit for more attentive staff then it would truly receive the 5* rating it deserves. The property cannot be faulted.

Room Tip: Corner Suite on Higher floor

To be honest, when you opened, we were in the place, and I thought that was not a wellcoming place to stay, but after this experience, staying at Vdara Hotel, as I say before, until now, this was the best time and best place that we enjoy in Vegas.

Room Tip: I can't ask for more.

Great boutique hotel amongst all the action on the strip with the exception that it doesn't have a casino and is non-smoking. A large establishment with an intimate feel. Well connected to all the major hotels. It has an overall upscale feel to without the usual slot machine chaos. Very cool decor, nice pool. Great bathroom and spacious room. We liked the bedding so much that we purchased 4 pillows from them.

I have stayed at many different hotels in Vegas (9 of them). This is by far at the top of the list, the suite at The Venetian may be the only thing to top it, but it was almost 5 times more expensive than this stay (booked through priceline). While some say its location is not great with it so far off the strip and its a long walk.. All I can say is that its a long walk anywhere you go in Vegas so whats the big deal if you add 10 extra min. Honestly you can be in the Aria, Cosmo or Bellagio in about 7-10 min. There is a tram that can take you to Crystals (Strip access) or Monte Carlo in about 10 min. I really like the fact that this place is only Hotel/Spa. Without a casino and smoking, its always refreshing to have it smell nice and quiet. The room we had was fantastic and the pillows were to die for. If there were any downsides since there is no casino, food options are a bit limited but again with Aria so close its easy to get over it.

Green Features: I work in the energy efficiency field and this hotel does a great job

We've stayed here before and love this place. Very clean and lux. he bed and pillows are really comfortable. The staff are really nice and accommodating.
My only complaint and it's a crazy one is that the iron is attached to the ironing board. I'm just not sure why it is but this makes it almost impossible to iron your clothes effectively. It's a cheap iron as well so it's not like anyone wants to steal it.

Anyway other than that it's great.

Hotels in Las Vegas keep raising the bar and so that should keep them competitive in their offerings and amenities. Unfortunately, the folks at VDARA apparently don't see the need to keep up with this.

First, I was very disappointed with the rooms. The had small windows, were dark, and lacked many of the amenities offered in other "luxury" hotels. The window shade control was located in the entry hallway (and not bedside as in ARIA) and so it was not easy to open them in the morning. I had to call downstairs for robes and was told that these were available upon request only. There was no cutlery or anything included in the kitchen but was only available upon request.

The cleaning people were told to come back later in the day to clean and they never did. There were hairs on the bathroom ceiling along with shaving cream (really?) which was pretty disgusting.

Overall, I would say that the rooms were mediocre based on today's Vegas standards and I would not stay there again.

Room Tip: If you book the Deluxe Suite, make sure and ask for one with a divider in the center. Otherwise you...

Green Features: Considering the fact that I had to change rooms immediately because my first room smelled like cleaning supplies, I would say that they get a big zero in this category.

We understand our guests have a variety of options when choosing to stay in Las Vegas and we always want them to leave Vdara feeling like their choice was well worth it, I am sorry that your stay did not reflect that.
