“Very Nice Hotel”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

I stayed in the hotel while attending a conference in the Aria. Absolutely loved the fact that I didn't have to walk through a casino every time I wanted to get to my room. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. Wifi coverage was great and the Internet was very fast. Would definitely stay there again.

stayed at vdara the weekend of pacquiao/marquez boxing match. i booked vdara through priceline package deal ($382 for 2 nights).

the room was very nice and spacious. it had an open kitchen/fridge area with a stove. the living room had a sofa bed and TV and the bedroom had a nice comfortable bed with another TV! The bathroom was nice and a little small, but it had both a tub and shower which was nice.

the floor plan is open and doesn't allow much privacy except for the bathroom. the living area is open with only a wall for the TV.

security is nice as vdara has a staff member at all times at the elevators to verify your room keys. the nearest casino is aria, which is just a short walk outside along the covered walkway. vdara is also connected to bellagio through the spa tower.

i would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced, 5-star hotel along the strip.

Room Tip: choose a room on a higher floor, (~15th floor) so that you can see the bellagio fountains if you get...

New, upscale hotel without casino noise. The bed was very comfortable and the room very modern. Glad to see a Keurig in the room! Views were great! The Concierge was outstanding and helped us get reservations and last minute show tickets.

We have had a wonderful stay in Vegas staying at the vdara hotel and spa. We were on the 10th floor in a beautiful large room with its own kitchenette if you were so inclined to fix your own meals. The bathroom has a shower and a huge tub which you definately need to try. The king bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The staff are very friendly and go out of there way to help you. The vdara sister hotel aria is in walking distance and there are some great areas to go get a meal.

There is parking by valet and the guys are very friendly. We will definately stay here again on our next trip to Vegas. Do yourself a favour and stay here it's a great stressfree location.

For people who enjoy Las Vegas for the sun, dry heat, and pool scene but do not like the unappealing gambling and casino scene, I highly recommend staying at Vdara Hotel & Spa. As the name suggests, this hotel is a resort and has no casino. Since there is no casino, the room rates are lower than say for a comparable property such as Aria Resort and Casino.

This is what I wanted. The pool scene is quiet and without the loud and cheesy crowd who want to seen and heard. The pool side service is great and the servers are friendly.

The guest rooms are luxurious and modern. I especially liked the bath tub. One can sink in it and relax.

As a MGM Resorts property, the standards are high class.

My advice to those who want to stay at a top notch hotel, save some money but still want to partake in casino activity is to book a room at Vdara and then make a short walk to its sister hotel, Aria.

Vdara...my favorite Las Vegas hotel resort.

Overall, it is modern, sleek, clean, quiet and well located. The front desk employees are very nice. However, we had several issues and the Vdara didn't meet all our expectations.

Positives: friendly staff, non smoking, modern, quiet and spacious. Our room on the 35th floor had a partial view of the Bellagio fountains. We booked a 'free buffet' promo directly on Vdara's website (which led to some of our problems).

Negatives: We were looking for a luxury room/suite and felt this would be perfect (based on photos and all the great reviews). While the 'suite' is spacious, the layout makes it seem smaller than it is. It didn't seem as luxurious as we expected or have the wow factor we hoped for; it certainly doesn't say 'romance'. Several sites list it a five star and that is definitely a stretch. Very modern, clean, and comfortable though.

The kitchenette is useless as it is stocked with NOTHING (esp not a coffee pot). You have to request EVERYTHING (including a spoon or cup) from housekeeping. We requested two cups and two robes. Two hours later I re-requested them because they had no record of the first call. Needless waste of time.

The partial TV wall between the living room and bedroom serves to chop up the space and provide no privacy in the bedroom area. Bed was very nice and extremely comfortable. Bathroom is very modern but not that impressive.

Do NOT book the buffet promo. No one at check in explains that it is essentially a credit to your account. We waited in the buffet line for an entire HOUR at the Aria before finding that the 'complimentary buffet coupon' doesn't cover the whole cost of the 'complimentary buffet'. We had to trek back to the front desk to sort it out. The whole thing was frustrating and a big hassle. The Aria buffet was by no means worth it.

While valet parking is a nice 'option' it is mandatory at Vdara. On check out, we waited half an hour with 40 other people.

I had read that the wifi was great at the Vdara. Not in our suite. We had less than one bar and it never worked for us.

We changed our stay from three nights to two nights. We advised the front desk, they modified our reservation, it appeared correctly on the TV when we checked out. Nonetheless, they charged us for the third night and we had to resolve yet another hassle. We've never been to the front desk so many times in one stay.

We wanted a luxury accommodation for a romantic get away. Next time we will try another resort.

My wife and I decided to stay at Vdara after much consideration of other comparable properties such as Cosmopolitan, Aria, and The Signature (which we stayed at in July, and although we consider it our favorite hotel in Vegas we like to experience other hotels as often as possible). Vdara gave us a great deal on a six day, five night stay in a city corner suite that we could not pass up. Our travel agent mentioned in the reservation that it was my wife's birthday and from our first interaction with the staff we could tell that they were really on the ball. The clerk (a wonderful woman named Lisbeth) wished my wife a happy birthday without us saying anything first, and after asking if we had a preference of floor or view she upgraded us to an Executive city corner suite on the 23rd floor. That was a pleasant surprise, but I never base my reviews, good or bad, simply on an upgrade. That's a reflection on the individual staff member and not on the hotel on a whole. She also asked if we'd like a late check-out and set it up for us during check-in. All this without us asking for it, or flashing a tip. But believe me she definitely got one. Just be aware that Vdara requires a credit card to hold funds in case you charge to your room. The hold is $100 per night of your stay held in full. They also charge a resort fee of $25 a day plus tax which makes it $28 per day, and unlike many hotels that have you pay it in cash at the beginning of your stay Vdara charges it to your held credit card upon check-out. I thought that was cool. No upfront money, unless that's how you want to pay it. Now, to the hotel. Vdara is a very grand, very luxurious hotel. When you step inside you immediately notice the pleasant, exotic fragrance wafting through the air. Vdara is not a gaming property so it has no casino. Vdara is strictly for relaxing. You have access to Bellagio through an indoor corridor, and Aria is right across the way. They have one hotel bar which is cool to hang out in, one restaurant, and a cafe. We also had a $75 credit which we used to the last penny. The mixed drinks at the bar were expensive, but not that strong, or good. The cafe on the other hand had good food. We got a late-night patty melt with fries and they were delicious. You have to show your key card to security to access the elevators and there were many of them and they were fast. We were in room 23-002 and that room was simply gorgeous. You enter into a large living room/dining room with a guest bathroom and a kitchenette to the side. The guest bathroom has a sink and toilet, and the kitchen has a full size stainless fridge with a filtered water button on the inside, microwave, four-burner electric cooktop, a Keurig coffee machine, and tons of cabinet and drawer space. You get two bottles of water, and two Keurig K-cups a day. You must call down to the front desk to request dishes and utensils. The kitchen also has a mini-bar, but don't touch it (unless you want to pay the crazy prices). Between the guest bathroom and kitchen is a closet that holds a washer and dryer. That's right, a washer and dryer in your room. Very helpful for washing your gym clothes. Speaking of that, the Vdara has an incredible gym which is included in your resort fee. Tons of treadmills ellipticals, and bikes with TV's on each one, along with large flat screens on practically every wall, weight machines, free weights, kettle bells, stretchy weight bands, and free water bottles. Towels, dry and on ice are also provided. The view in the Executive city corner was amazing. The room is in an L-shape and the windows extend the length of the outer L-shape from the living room, through the bedroom, to the bathroom. We had a view from the expressway, mountains, and Rio hotel, to the North end of the strip including the Bellagio and the fountain show, to the front view of City Center including the Cosmopolitan and Aria. The only drawback is that some windows face other rooms and although the windows are darkened from the outside you can see in when the lights are on. The living room/dining room had a four chair dining table, a couch with queen-size pullout, a writing desk and chair, a plush chair, and a 42-inch LED HD TV which you can connect a DVD player, game system, or iPod/iPad to. You also get free WiFi. The bedroom also has a 42-inch LED and a comfortable king-size pillow top (although not as comfortable as the beds in Signature, Encore, and T.I. which is still the best bed in Vegas). The bedroom also has a large closet with free laptop-sized safe. Unfortunately there is no iPod dock in the bedroom. The bathroom has a large shower with bench and multi-flow massaging shower head, large soaking tub (no jacuzzi), double vanity sinks with lighted makeup/shaving mirror, and toilet in a private alcove but no privacy door. Every room has auto-controlled sheers and blackout shades and thermostat in the living room and bedroom. Every time we called for something whether it was for dishes, late room cleaning, or to adjust our thermostat to make the room warmer, someone came quickly, they were efficient, and quite possibly the most pleasant staff we've ever encountered. And they never hung around expecting a tip. The pool was closed so we only saw it through glass doors. The only real drawback to the Vdara is that the entrance to City Center is NOT pedestrian friendly. To get to the strip you have to either take a long walk through Aria and exit through the shopping center, take a trolley from Bellagio which was just as long because Vdara doesn't have it's own stop, or take an elevator down to street level and take the sidewalk until it ends halfway there then go through the Cosmopolitan casino, or cross the street and walk around Aria until you come to the pedestrian bridge. Or just walk a straight line along the curb in the street until you exited a security gate and reached a pedestrian bridge (very risky). That was the one sucky thing about Vdara. Aside from that it was our second favorite room behind the Signature, and our third favorite hotel behind Signature and Encore.
