“Loved our stay!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2012

We returned home on Thursday after a week long stay at the Vdara and we loved it.. Cannot fault the service we received, everyone from the guy on the taxi stand to reception staff and maids and actually even the security staff absolutely everyone was pleasant and well mannered.. I also used the spa on one occasion for a nail repair and the lady was extremely nice, i can't remember her name, something like Zoe I think, but she was fantastic and very attentive.
Our room, or suite actually, was fabulous, huge with everything you could want, there is a kitchen area with kitchen utensils available if you wanted them, we didn't as we were on holiday, and who wants to cook on holiday!! Was nice it was there just incase tho! Bathroom was double the size of ours at home with very nice fixtures. The bed was also huge and extremely comfortable! i actually miss it now i'm home! I would definately recommend getting a room high up, we were on 41st floor and view was fabulous. We liked that the hotel was quiet and clean with a lovely smell!! It was nice to go back there after being out at night as the gaming hotels are quite loud and very busy at times so its nice to go back to some calm! It is a short walk to Bellagio one way and Aria the other, both of which are fabulous in their own right, there is also a monorail which connects these hotels along with Monte Carlo which is free and great if you don't want a very long walk to, for example, New York-New York..
The only thing I feel it is lacking is a restaurant, there is the market vdara cafe/takeaway and whilst this is nice for lunch thats all it is and it doesn't stay open very late. There is also a bar which is nice too but we only used it once.
A nice restaurant would be the icing on the cake to this wonderful hotel.
Would I stay again? Definately.

Room Tip: Get a room high up to appreciate views.

We stayed at the Vdara after reading reviews on here. We stayed for a week for my 50th.
As advised on here I emailed the hotel the week before explaining the reason for our trip and asked to be given a complimentary upgrade. The hotel acknowledged and "noted" my request. To no avail :( TBH, they said on arrival that we`d not been allocated a room yet! So i was a bit disappointed. Anyway we got room 40046. We could see the Bellagio and Paris hotel plus the beautiful mountains so it wasn`t too bad at all. Nice panoramic windows.
We took our own kettle which was a godsend-the cafe downstairs was nice but it kept costs down. We also took cereal bars for breakfast, but the all-you-can-eat at the Aria was fantastic.Wonderful choice.
I didnt get time to use the Spa and I checked the pool out but it wasn,t what we went to Vegas for. Plus there was no pool bar so it seemed a bit of a trek from 3rd to the bar.
When going out, there was no direct route to the Strip which we eventgually got used to. That was probably the most negative thing about the hotel. But, it was nice not facing yet another casino after a full day out.
I would stay there again, no doubt.

If you are traveling with your child or children, don't bother to upgrade to the corner suite thinking you'll have a much bigger space -you won't. We stayed recently April 1-7, 2012 and paid the $50/per day upcharge for the suite. We found that when we opened up the sofa bed for our son, the entire living room was completely taken up and was no longer useable, while the standard room where my brother and sis-in-law stayed was much more spacious and had the same sofa bed with lots more room. The difference is just the dividing wall (a sliding glas door) between. Our room was very chopped up and had a tight, cramped feel. Our view was of the pool and not a great one, but pretty at night -Room # 15023. I recently stayed (Jan 2012) at a Comfort Suites in Chicago (on Michigan Ave with a fantastic view) with the same arrangement and more amenities that was TWICE thie size and 1/2 the price! Speaking of the pool, I called the concierge in advance to ask about the pool being heated (I was told it was not, but it is) and to reserve a cabana. Cabanas were not available ("not sure why, that is kinda weird" was the response I got) and the pool closed every day at 5 PM -just when you might be back to your room to enjoy a dip in the pool or hot tub. The weather was glorious the whole week we were there. and the pool was a very popular feature-packed each day with guests, but they kicked us out at five. ("The pool isn't really open yet." was the response we heard when we asked.) It's SPRING BREAK, why wouldn't the heated pool be open??? A prior reviewer was correct that although the hotel is close to the strip, it takes 15+ minutes to get to the strip because there is no sidewalk and you have to complete a complex system of up and downs staires and elevators to get there-like much of Vegas. There is a convenient walkway mostly indoors to Bellagio, where the buffet is very good but the lines are excessively long and smokey. Vdara food was subpar and the one night we ordered room service, the food was mediocre to poor. The marketplace in the lobby had a wide range of quick breakfast items and was very good, but expensive. FYI - although at Vdara you have a full kitchen, they provided nothing in the room to service it -no paper towels, silverware, plates, etc... Our trip to Vegas was fantastic, unfortunately Vdara was not the best part. We would not stay there again.

The hotel check-in was very quick and throughout over stay there were never no more thann 3-5 persons in line. Some of the gigantic hotels had lines of 30-40+ with a counter staff of 8.
The suite was very clean and beautifully appointed. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The pool was being upgraded and only partially open.....apparently the area gets quite windy (a regular occurrence) making the pool time less than prefect....the area itself was clean and the lounge chairs were comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Vdara.
Our only critical commend has the lack of a coffee maker in the room... I thought every hotel room would have one. We called room service and they brought one up while we out....with one cup and enough coffee for one person....the kitchen was not stocked....not even a spoon.
Again, we would recommend the hotel....just beware.

The Vdara is a smoke-free and gaming-free hotel located in the new City Center in Las Vegas. The lobby is plain and there are no door greeters. In fact, the doors are not even automatic, so you have to open and close them yourself with luggage in tow. The front desk staff seemed very uneducated and did nothing to assist with guest requests.

Guest rooms were beautiful suites with kitchen/ dining area, living room, bathroom and comfortable bedroom with desk space. The room was modern, but lacked attention to detail (poor placement of smart technology features, improper lighting, not enough trash cans, no TV in bathroom, etc). The hotel has few dining options and room service was problematic. The menu in our room was apparently dated and everything we called to order was not available. After in-room meals, dishes were not picked up when promised. All in all, it was a decent stay in a large, quiet suite.

Loved the smoke free environment. Loved the decently priced cafe located on the first floor (compared to the other restaurants around the area). Loved our large room and the friendly service we got. We managed to get a room with the view of the Bellagio fountains.

We were staying here during March Madness/St Pats weekend. The hotel was fully booked and there was a queue at the front counter for check in. The receptionists were so efficient we didn't have to wait long.

It's not smack bang on the strip but close enough. This works well for us because we like to walk and explore. You can get to the strip either via the Bellagio or Aria. If you're a non smoker or sensitive to smoke this is heaven. We walked through the Bellagio and had pretty sore red eyes after doing so.

We had friends who were staying at the Bellagio and we were able to compare our experiences with theirs... Another pro about staying at the Vdara is that we didn't have to pay for every single ameneties such as toiletries.

Hotel rooms were new, large and clean. Bed and pillows were nice and soft. Views were amazing. Automated shades were pretty cool. Liked the seperated bed area. Bathroom was large with a seperate bath and shower which is not common for the "cheapest" room option. Admittedly though this is the cheapest room in a 5 star accomodation. Even with the March Madness we didn't hear any noise from our rooms. Security is pretty tight in the hotel. There are staff close to the lifts that ask to see your hotel room key before allowing you to enter the area.

Food prices at the cafe were priced below $15USD vs the restaurants at the Bellagio were food started at $15USD. If you want to eat cheaper you can buy your groceries (not sure where though) and cook for yourself in the room as it includes a small kitchenette. You need to contact reception for cooking tools and utensils however.

If you want flashy lobbies and shops in your hotel then stay somewhere else. If you dont mind a 3 minute walk to the Bellagio via the connecting bridge then stay at Vdara.

If you're a smoker, Vdara is not the hotel for you.

Our stay at the hotel was truly enjoyable and we'd love to come back some day.

I spent 5 nights in the Vdara on my holidays, the hotel is very clean and safe! There are security that check your room keys before you enter the lobby. There are no casino's in this hotel but there is a free tram service to all the other casino's. The staff here are very very helpful and you are looked after extremely well. I definitely recommend Vdara.
