Flew into Vegas on September 14, 2011 and stayed until September 16, 2011 at the Vdara hotel. Right away from the lobby to the room, to the amentities did this hotel blow me away. As many people complain on this review page about the outstanding wait to check-in, I can honestly say I had no problem. We wait about 15 mintes, and there were 4 staff members doing their absolute best to speed up the line. We arrived before 3pm which is when this hotel checks in, however they were able to offer us a room with a city center view which was perfect. The room itself was a nice sized suite with a kitchenette, king bed, pull out queen sofa bed, and lovely washroom.

We didn't really eat at the hotel other than grabbing a quick snack from their market cafe which was a little pricey but hey, you're in Vegas thats just how things operate. The pool was great...nice and quiet - no pool parties here!

As far as the distance from the strip, it was a bit far because we had to make our way to the Bellagio and then walk through there so it added about 15 minutes to the already far walk around the strip. For the price of the hotel though, and considering it was a 5 star hotel, they did everything in their power to make my stay a desirable one.

Also, the wi-fi was working at all points of my stay in the hotel. They were very good about making sure all the amendities we paid for in the resort fee were taken care of.

Definitely worth the stay!

Room Tip: Ask for something with a view of the Bellagio or the city center.

We booked Vdara Hotel through hotwire, not knowing hotel's name until completely booked. Reading the earlier reviews, we were a little bit disappointed but for the good price in the busy week (summer break), and no chance to return, we took a chance. Arriving around 1:00pm, 2 hours before check-in time but Hotel let us check in with a great welcome. I asked for room with Bellagio's fountain show view and got it. As some other reviewers mentioned, this is not a hotel, it's more likely a high-end apartment. Our room has stunning view at night. Contemporary interior decoration with very comfortable beds. No "Casino" smell, quiet and easy access to Bellagio & Aria.
Swimming pool and Spa are on 3rd floor, small and quickly occupied after 10:00am. Not much impressive since we came here not for the pool, but for a 5-star hotel standard, it's not yet qualified.

We had stayed at Bellagio's Spa Tower before, loved it, but liked Vdara more due to its nearly built and contemporary interior. Didn't enjoy Bellagio much since there was and is always lots of people in front of the hotel for fountain show time and inside the casino. We paid for the price (was really expensive last time) but mostly for the brand, not much the enjoy. This time, with Vdara, yes, we did enjoy both the price and the service.

Will be back and refer friends or who like contemporary techniques to check this hotel out once having chance to come to Las Vegas.

Beautiful hotel! The biggest advantage was its central location on the strip, and the fact that is has no casino in it with cigarette smoke.

When we checked in we requested a room with view of the Bellagio Fountains, and ended up getting a beautiful suite with washer/dryer/living room/dining room included - WOW!!! Best room ever.

Great value for its prize =). There is a marketplace in the Vdara but is very pricey.

- When you check in, request a room with the Bellagio fountains
- For cheap food/dining that is good quality go to the nearby Miracle Mile Shops. The restaurants in the City Center complex (which Vdara belongs to) are VERY expensive
- There is a food court at the Monte Carlo; this can be accessed by a free tram from the Vdara
- In the strip and on casino/mall entrances you will be continously harassed by people trying to get you to buy time shares....this was really annoying. They will always try to ask you the same "screening questions" - just tell them you are leaving Vegas tonight and they will go away.

The Vdara Hotel and Spa has one of the most comfortable rooms in Las Vegas. It is comfortable to the body (bed, chairs, desk, bath) and to the eye (with its design and layout). Additionally, the workout room is excellent, as is the store in the lobby. With no restaurant on site for dinner, its proximity to Avia, the Bellagio, and other casinos along this section of the strip is essential. It is a young crowd that stays at this hotel, many from overseas. It's location in the middle of some of the worst traffic on the strip does not make it an easy place to commute from.

Room Tip: Higher floors provide a fantastic view of the strip.

We were a little worried after reading some of the earlier reviews, but we got a good price on priceline for a busy ( so expensive ) time in Las Vegas, so we took a chance. We loved it! My favorite hotel in Vegas is the Bellgio, and because of it's location, the Vdara was ideal. I had stayed in Bellagio's Spa Tower before, and this was the same location, with a nicer and roomier suite. We had the deluxe suites- actually 2 of them. This is the bottom of their line, so no coffee maker. But one had 2 big flat screens, the other because of it's layout had one, but was a more open space. The view over the pool was pleasant, and the room was quiet. We had no problem checking in, even though it was quite busy. We were in and out of there in 15 minutes, including the time the clerk spent searching for two suites next door to each other. We really appreciated her attention to that! Besides the market cafe, there is a fabulous pastry, coffee and crepes place just inside the Belliago very close to Vdara. They will pack up your breakfast so it is easy to take back to your pretty suite to enjoy!
Despite previous comments to the contrary, our rooms were spotless, and made-up in a timely manner everyday. We loved Vdara, and will be back!

We have not stayed at this hotel, but every visit, we make sure to go to the Vdara Bar at main entrance. Cold beer, specialty drinks, and believe it or not, a really good bar menu...we love the chicken wings, and the Tempura Asparagus. Service is excellent!

The Hotel is nice, a solid Three Star, no higher.
To me, a Hotel needs to have, at minimum, on-site restaurants and a private lounge area to rate more than 3 Stars.

The Good:
Large Flat Panel TV's in the Rooms
Nice Views from the Bellagio side (can watch the Bellagio Fountain shows)
Very comfortable beds
No "Casino" smell or traffic

The Bad:
Very expensive room service (like $48.00 for one person generic eggs, toast, coffee and juice)
Very limited beer selection at the little lobby open area bar.

...and most of all, location.

It's about a 1/4 mile walk to the Casino area of the Bellagio, a little closer to the Aria Casino, but if you want the Bellagio, get ready for a hike.

The walk wouldn't be so bad if they had auto doors instead of expecting you to push your way though all those doors. I know that sounds a little lame to complain about the doors, but hey, this is Las Vegas and it is supposed to be a link between two high class hotels.

The other thing that bothered us and a lot of others is the Vdara is right next door to the Cosmopolitan Casino and Las Vegas Blvd., yet it's like "You Can't Get There From Here".

I think whoever owns the VDara also owns the Crystal Shopping Center as they force you to walk across the street, through Crystals, up the escalator, back across the street on the overpass, then back down the escalator to get to Cosmo's and the Blvd.
You have to J-Walk maybe 20 feet across a driveway to cut 90% of the trip and just walk next door.

Also, I think when this Hotel was built it was going to be Condos, not a Hotel.
They probably built it just before/during the housing crash in Vegas.

This would explain the lack of amenities you normally find in a Hotel (like Restaurants, Shops and a better Elevator layout) and also why the rooms have stoves and ovens in them.
The rooms look like an updated "Extended Stay" hotel.
One last thing I have to say:
The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) is out of their minds and out of touch with customers.

This is the second major gambling location I have been to in Nevada since the NGCB removed coin money from the Casinos, and it will be last time I go to any of them.
It just isn't any fun to be in a Casino without the sounds of a Casino.

We only found one $1.00 machine (at New York, New York Casino) that paid out in coins and there was a long line to play it.

Just like the last Casino we went to in Reno, we brought over $2,500 to play with, yet only spent maybe $100.00 before getting bored of the dull atmosphere and leaving the Casinos.

They need to bring back the "Clunk-Clunk-Clunk" of coins falling into the hoppers!!

Room Tip: Ask for a Room with a view of the Fountains.
