“Absolutely FANTASTIC & Memorable Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2014

My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas was a true Five Star/Five Diamond experience. This hotel embodies ultimate luxury from the minute you are greeted at the door to the rich guest room experience. My name was utilized each and every time I entered or exited the property. The team in Las Vegas goes above and beyond to deliver a service level that simply does not exist anywhere else on the Las Vegas strip. As a guest, you simply retreat into an ultimate enclave while the staff anticipates your every need. A special thank you to Michael and the team at the door, Alex in the MoZen restaurant, the front desk staff and lastly the very attentive Housekeeping team. The level of attention, product delivery/consistency and lastly cleanliness exceeded my expectations. I can not wait to return! I am truly and will always remain a Mandarin Oriental FAN!

We decided to book the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas after reading it was number one on trip advisor. We thought it would be expensive but was quite surprised as it was not much more than the main hotels such as MGM, Caesars Palace etc. We booked through Travel Republic as they were offering a £99 deposit pay later scheme and the whole booking ran like clockwork.

The hotel was excellent, the staff were first class and our cityscape room large and spacious. (word of warning watch the bathroom floors are very slippy when wet). I,m glad we did not pay for the strip view as the best view was from the 23rd floor tea room or mandarin bar, don't sit in your room and view the strip, get a drink and view it from the bar!

8th floor pool area was superb with plenty of sunloungers and again excellent service.

No casino in this hotel but this was a positive for us and not a negative as after a mad day or night in Vegas the hotel was peace and calm.

5 star and first class all the way, give it a go you will not be disappointed.

We were fairly happy at our City Center hotel, but we just wanted to "see" the Mandarin, so we went over and met April at the front desk. She gave us a tour of this beautifully designed, serene and elegant hotel. She was so personable and professional, and the hotel was so impressive, that we decided to leave the hotel we were staying in, and move to the Mandarin! What a great decision! April even assisted us in checking out of the other hotel.
One of the best features for us was that the Mandarin has no casino, hence no craziness! If you want crazy, you can just step outside!
The service was impeccable from the entire staff- so well-trained and attentive. Slept like a princess due to great pillows, linens, mattress and black-out curtains. We spent most of our time at the pool which was lovely and peaceful. Anthony took excellent care of us, even noticing when our umbrellas needed adjusting to keep us in the shade. Comfy loungers with thick pads. Treats served often - from frozen grapes to fruit slushies. Excellent turn down service. The food in the restaurants was delicious and prepared to your specifications - whatever you wanted, they provided. Five star hotel with five star service - no wonder they are numero uno!

Room Tip: We were on the 16th floor with great views.

PHENOMENAL STAFF – OUTSTANDING FOOD = ANOTHER GREAT STAY AT LAS-MO

After spending another 4 days at the Las Vegas Mandarin Oriental I cannot imagine staying at any other hotel on the Strip. You will NOT find better staff anywhere on the Strip – from Glenn, Casey, Eric & the others at the Bell Stand to Henry, Vildan and others at the Front Desk to an amazing Housekeeping Staff – they are all Phenomenal.

The LAS-MO is located in front of Aria and is nicely secluded behind trees and is a sanctuary from the craziness of the Strip.

If you look at my previous posts about the LAS-MO you can see shots of the room and hotel itself. I will post pictures this time from lunch at the pool – awesome Turkey BLT – and their Classic American Breakfast at Mozen Bistro, also awesome & filling.

If you’re looking for a getaway to LAS but don’t want the hassle of huge hotels that remind you of shopping malls, check out the Mandarin Oriental.

Room Tip: They offer Strip View rooms & Suites if the view is important to you - just ask when making the...

We spent 5 nights at MO LAS late April 2014 strip view suite. We were left a bit disappointed by our experience this time. In 2013 we spent 7 nights and found it to be one of the best hotels in terms of service, quality and location we have ever experienced.

This time though we were let down by several issues:

1. The service and ambiance at breakfast every morning was poor. Some mornings we felt the waiters just couldn't handle the amount of guests when busy (between 8.30-10.30). Too many times we were waiting to either get our coffee topped up or trying to find a waiter to ask for some more butter or a clean knife etc. To have to wait and try and catch the eye of a waiter when your food is getting cold is just not good enough and we felt stressed.

On the last day, Saturday, we felt rushed as the cont. buffet was being taken away, we were told you have 5 Mins to grab what you want yet it wasn't taken away for over 30 mins. We were also given the wrong menu by the girl at the entrance and told american breakfast couldn't be ordered yet when we spoke to Ken the waiter he said we could have whatever we wanted but only gave us 5 mins at the buffet. We felt confused and rushed. The guy next to us was given the wrong item aswell, we heard him also complaining about the service and the choice.

2. The service at the pool area was nowhere near what it was the year before. There seemed to be more young staff 'hanging around' with little experience and less staff coming round to see if we needed anything. Not once did a server come round and offer anyone an iced water and only once did we receive any samples from the bar, massively different from last year and how you are treated at the Four Seasons, where they offer you a jug of iced water, frozen snickers, icepops, pineapple sticks, iced mochas etc etc..

There were a couple of days of high winds, the pool area was left open even though believe it or not sunbeds were being blown into the swimming pool, I got hit by a wet flying cushion, litter and soil was being blown at around. It seemed the young staff had no idea what to do.

The final day on Saturday lunchtime it had been raining, we went out to the hot tub for a hour. We were the only ones there and the pool area felt desolate. The pool was ice cold, I was told due to it refilling itself after the wind had blown a lot of the water out. The doors to the showers/toilets were also locked so we had to traipse through the gym in our towels, no one came to open the doors despite our requests. When I arrived in the changing areas, there were towels lying around and the toilets were not clean. Not happy!

3. There were issues with the wifi, on one day we could not get any despite paying the $25 resort fee. It was blamed on a local problem nothing to do with the hotel.

4. The dark wood flooring at the entrance to your room could look very tired. Ours had several large scraps on the floor made the room felt a little bit tired.

5. The IPad type device which controls curtains etc is now way past its sell by date and slow to use, needs updating.

6. The Mandarin Bar was closed to guests on our first night and the pool was shut after 6pm on another night. Bear this in mind.

7. If you are getting a strip view suite make sure its the one which overlooks Planet Hollywood as the one overlooking MGM has a view mainly of the Monte Carlo car park! The cityscape suites are a better bet IMO, bigger and a little cheaper.

8. April at the front desk appeared surly and unwilling to smile. Hilary and Tanner on the other hand couldn't be more helpful.

Apart from these issues, our stay was very satisfactory. Highlights include the Spa, great service as usual especially from Chad (Hawaii)and Andrew (Philippines). The valet staff superb, Tanner behind the desk, superb as was all the concierge, Doug Hessler especially but also Joe and Debbie. But the above issues did disappoint us, the standards this hotels set when we first came here in 2013 seemed to have fallen. We also stayed 1 night as the Four Seasons, and if it was not for its poor location, we would consider this as our no1 Vegas hotel, better outdoor breakfasts, better ambiance, better pool staff, more space.

Room Tip: Cityscape rooms are actually better than the strip view suites.

We made our first trip to Las Vegas for spring break. We do not gamble or smoke, and we do not have children. So MO for 6 nights was the logical choice. We we not disappointed as the room was well appointed and had a great strip view. All staff were attentive and responsive to our needs. We spent most of 3 days by the pool, which was private and had considerate guests. We also ate breakfast there 3 days (with the B & B package), and at the Mozen Bistro the other 3 mornings. On a couple of the mornings, once at the pool and once at Mozen, the wait staff seemed in some disarray, though the effort was there. We went to the Mandarin Bar 2 evenings to end our day with a drink. We enjoyed the experience but were disappointed that they close (and I mean close) at 11:00 PM. Not sure why as many Vegas folks are just getting
started about that time. We saw Leno, whom we highly recommend, and a couple of other quality shows and took in the hotels on the strip. Also, did an arial tour of the Grand Canyon, which was spectacular. We feel that we have done the Vegas thing, and once is good for us. We are pleased we chose to stay at the Mandarin.

We went back to this hotel because it is the only hotel in Vegas I think, that does not have a casino. No crowds , therefore very quiet. Great location on the strip, next door to a fantastic shopping area. The spa is absolutely fantastic, had one of the best facials I have ever had.
The restaurant has breathtaking views and food was delicious, the staff all very friendly and very helpful. Our room was a little slow in being cleaned each day. Bed and pillows very comfortable and bathroom very luxurious with a TV in the wall.

Room Tip: Any room overlooking the strip is great
