“It Doesn't Get Better in Las Vegas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

This is a relatively new hotel on the strip located in the middle of the action but situated in a way that one does not feel the hustle energy of the Strip. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable, the staff is as attentive as one may experience in the very best hospitality environments in the world. I went to the cafe for breakfast only, it was top shelf in every way.

I am a very light sleeper and this hotel provided the most consistently peaceful rests I've experienced in Las Vegas rivaling the best.

Is the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas really that good? Yes, it is.

Mandarin Oriental LV is in a class completely by itself. First of all, it is a non casino hotel which wins me over because who wants to walk through all that smoke when you get back to your room. I LOVED this hotel from the minute I walked in to the minute I left. Every SINGLE staff member there is BEYOND amazing. They actually act like they love working there and they love taking care of their guests! Daniel at the check in desk, courteous and kind! The warm towels added a nice touch! The concierge, Haley, cannot do enough for you! She was AMAZING! The spa staff is top notch, everyone goes above and beyond to assist you. I literally felt so pampered! Doormen are always friendly. If I ever go back to Vegas, this will be my only place to stay.

Room Tip: I don't think you can get a bad room there!

Stayed 3 nights with family in 2 rooms. The fact that this hotel is ranked number 1 in Vegas proves that Tripadvisor rankings are right at least some of the time.

This hotel oozes class everywhere; furnishings, design, ambience, décor. The service ties everything together, everyone is attentive, there for the customer. The location is great, and being a non gambling hotel with its entrance tucked away from the strip, it's an excellent escape from all the action. The day spa is a nice oasis too, and it's very easy to relax there as a type of lounge for 4-5 hours.

The stay makes you think afterwards of "how different would the entire hotel industry be in terms of raising overall customer service if all staff were trained the way the Mandarin Oriental staff were"?! If only.

As stated here many times this hotel serves as a spot of tranquility in the midst of Vegas madness. I can fully support that, it was after all the reason for my stay.
A claim of Mandarin is to provide impeccable service, and this is where the team needs to face a bit of critizism. Staying here during busy CES, I was more than disappointed to find out my daily schedule been messed up by a lengthy waiting time for breakfast of more than 30 minutes. Nobody had warned me upon checkin that a reservation might be required, and it's the last thing that I would have expected. I found myself in the aisle in front of the restaurant surrounded by grim faces of fellow frustrated guests in the same situation. From the next day, at least they learned their lesson by expanding the breakfast room and not accepting reservations. Gone was the waiting time. Now this episode wouldn't have been worth mentioning in an average Joe's B&B, but in a place priding itself for service - I'm sorry, you need to be better prepared next time guys. Second issue: to my surprise, the soundproofing between the rooms wasn't as good as I would have expected. The neighbours returning home in the morning hours, I was able to hear them walk despite their rubber soles. However is anyone really keen to be that close to their neighbours? Overal, still recommendable as I am sure the team are going to aim for a high standard, consistently.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you so much for taking time to share your comments on your recent stay with us. On behalf of the team, we apologize sincerely your expectations were not met with our breakfast service and the disturbances you experienced in your room. CES is a very busy time for the city of Las Vegas causing isolated incidents as you referenced. We are happy to hear we were able to resolve the issues at breakfast the following day and will use your review as a reference in the future to ensure these issues do not arise again. We hope we have the chance to welcome you back to Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas with a return visit in the near future.

This hotel has everything you would want.... Beautifully decorated and all amenities are thought of. As well, staff was helpful, accommodating and polite. I loved the bar in this hotel with its amazing view, people complained of expense but Vegas is pricey for nicer places.

Room Tip: We had a strip view and it was amazing !!!!

From the second you enter the driveway of The Mandarin Oriental, you are transported to a whole new place. It is on The Strip, but you will feel like you are in a Mandarin oasis. The beds are almost as comfortable as my beds at home (maybe even better). The service is impeccable and the bar is awesome! If you order champagne, freshly cut berries are served. If you are looking for a wild hotel, this is definitely NOT your place. If you are looking for a place to take a break from the wild activities from the night before or if you like a peaceful and private place to be, this is definitely the place to stay!
