Everything about this hotel is 5* from the staff to room and all the amenities. The hotel is well appointed on the strip for shops, bars and restaurants. The major plus of this hotel is its a non-gaming hotel so is quieter and overall a more relaxing experience.

I have stayed in Vegas 25+ and basically 8-% of the hotels on the strip. Lets start here, no hotel is perfect!! There is always something that is slightly off, slow, or something.... And most places are pretty good. Well.... after being home for 3 days now I am still trying to figure out what about the Mandarin isnt 1st class!

Check-in: Was booked for a suite view room. Between the entrance and check-in was wished a Happy Anniversary 3 times (nice touch).... At check in asked for an upgrade- was offered a paid option and a complementary option- took the complementary option for a Mandarin room strip side. Was offered to see the room before checking into it, declined but again nice touch.

Room: Seriously?!?! Unreal. High tech, spacious, clean, and just perfect. Huge closet for wife, strong pressured showers, and beds are among the best I have seen. Did order room service once and that was outstanding as well (and 1st class service as well!). Comp show shine and how the evelvators are configured very safe.

Pool/Pool Cafe: FIRST RATE! Serene, and truly a haven! do not stay here if you came to party- not your place. We made friends with two staff members Jordan and Holly who checked on us daily and knew the details of our staff. These young ladies are again why we will come back- in was the small staff touches that make the pricetag worth it! There service was great, the knew our drinks, our patterns and always made sure we had a spot on our side of the pool. Just great. And the food was good- not great but very good. Fish tacos were great, drinks were great, everything else 4/5- again not perfect but among the best on the strip.

Overall: Again, the staff makes this place! Megan Paxton (front), Jordan and Holly were who my wife and I enjoyed the most- find these people as they will make your stay! The hotel is in Vegas but could have been anywhere like LA, San Diego, just so peaceful. No casino- but gambling 100 yards away at Aria. This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed at over 200 hotels. Better than the Ritz, Four Seasons, and now we are fans of the Mandarin chain! Also, make sure to grab a drink on 23rd floor and bring a camera!

WELL DONE, WORTH THE PRICE IF LUXURY IS WHAT YOU WANT! DO NOT STAY FOR BACHELOR PARTIES!

Room Tip: Strip side room no necessarily worth the extra price- you have a great view from the bar on 23rd flo...

Loved this hotel so much that cancelled a reservation I had at another hotel for a week later and returned here. After having to deal with the unimaginable hordes of people at the humongous casino hotels, it is such a pleasure to return to this private, small hotel with impecable and personalized service and extremely comfortable, beautifuly appointed rooms. Also, at a great location almost at the center of the Strip.

I've stayed at most of the hotels on the strip in Vegas and have to say this is the best. Well, tied for the best. I normally stay at either the Four Seasons or THEhotel but thought I would try the Mandarin after many recommendations. It is amazing. The hotel is great. Service is impeccable, hotel is new and clean, all the technology works (there is tablet by the bed to control everything in the room) and there is a lot of it. Little things like a technology hub with a box full of plugs and connectors for every device (Ipods you need to call down for but can use the headphone jack plug-- think there was a theft problem) and when you connect it actually plays from the TV. Everyone calls you by name and jumps to your every request. Rooms were great. Not the biggest (THEhotel wins that one) for the standard room but sizeable and not cramped at all. Room for bed, desk and small loveseat. Very well appointed. Bathroom is nice and sizeable but still smaller than THEhotel. Also, strange point about bathroom, it has a glass wall on two sides. One side (facing bedroom) can be blocked with a sliding panel for privacy but the other side near the hallway cannot. It's somewhat frosted but not opaque at all. Seperate compartments for toilet and shower have same type of glass. It gives the illusion of privacy but when tested, provided little privacy. Not a big deal but thought I would mention if you happen to be sharing a room with someone who demands a little more privacy. Pool was great but somewhat small. Two lap pools but never had a problem getting a chair and good service while at the pool but VERY expensive. Pretty much every drink at the pool is $16. That seems a little steep for a margarita or glass of sangria and quickly runs up a big tab if you are spending the day. The Skybar in the lobby (23rd floor) is the same high drink prices but it has a great view and provides great wasabi coated nuts so you expect the higher price. To stay on the food and drink them, the Mozen Bistro is nice and the more casual restaurant (Twist is high-end and VERY pricey). Intersting menu but still quite pricey for lunch I thought. The pool cafe was great for breakfast. Had really good food, great service and was reasonably priced.

So of the three favorties hotels (Four Season, THEhotel, Mandarin) I have, I would stay at any of them again but given a choice, here is the comparison:
Location: Mandarin is centrally located so will win for most but I have stayed at the Mandalay complex (both THEhotel and Four Seasons are at Mandalay) it feels like home and has so much around it doesn't feel like you need to ever leave)
Rooms: THEhotel-- lets face it, it's a suite-- seperate living room, huge bath and extra toilet
Technology: Mandarin -- THEhotel has lots of cool technology but in my experience it only works half the time. Mandarin was flawless
Service: Tie between Four Seasons and Mandarin-- THEhotel is great hotel but not 5 star service
Pool: Four Seasons- They have their own private pool with 4Seasons service and also have access to Mandalay Bay pool-- THEhotel use the Mandalay pool which is great with it's many pools and beaches but it gets crazy and busy at times and it's tough to get service or find a chair.
Spa: Mandarin-- But this one is tough. Mandarin spa is more expensive and is small and intimate. Treatment and service was great. Spa was impeccably maintained. We were the only ones in there when we used it so it was great but could see it get crowded fast (if there were more than 5 people). THEhotel spa is similar in size to Mandarin (tiny) but service level is not as good. Mandalay Bay spa on same complex is massive with all amentities but would not be considered peaceful (probably 100 men using it at same time) and level of service is lacking. Often find wet towels laying around, water and towel dispensers empty. Showers not working, etc.
Overall if given the opportunity and for the same price, I would probably stay at Four Seasons over Mandarin but that's personal taste only. I am very familiar with that part of the strip and feel comfortable there. City Center and Crystals don't feel as comfortable to me yet. That being said, I would not hesitate to stay at Mandarin again if I couldnt get into Four Seasons. My third choice would be TheHotel. Certainly the best rooms but no personal touch.

We chose this hotel because it dosen't have a casino and therefore would be more restful and minus the cigarette smoke - we were not disappointed. Everything about this hotel was first-class and it was a sea of serenity in a chaotic city. The service was impeccable from the moment we arrived, staff are polished and professional but warm and friendly. The details are all delivered here - it is really like they have thought of everything - from sented bath salts & rose petals, relaxation CD's etc and one of the best stocked mini-bars I've ever seen. After battling through the crowds of the Strip we walked into our room and it was as if Vegas was a million miles away. This hotel is so relaxing I didn't want to leave! It is a genuine 5-Star hotel and the room rate was extremely good value. Can't recommend highly enough!

This is by far the best hotel on the strip! The rooms are spectacular, modern and clean. The service throughout the entire hotel can not be beat. The entire hotel provided a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this hotel

The room was beautiful but I really did not like a couple of things about this hotel. (1) The suites only have one toilet in them and that toilet does not have a fan. Most suites I have stayed in during my life have a powder room. This one does not and then the whole bathroom stays stinky. Gross. (2) Service was bad. Check in is at 3 pm. We showed up at 4:45 and the room was not ready. They offered for us to pay to upgrade. I said no but would take the upgrade for free - no dice. Waited another 20 minutes for room. (3) Pool is freezing and sucks. The pool is much smaller and more shallow than my pool at home AND it is freezing. They actually have three pools but they are all very small and super cold. Not refreshing cold but COLD. One plus about pool is that it is not a pick up joint so you can actually sit there without having to look at basically naked people with tats and piercings. (4) Hate that you have to change elevators to get to your room but I guess this is how they keep down the cost of hiring a person to guard the elevators.

I LOVED the gym. Was amazing gym with great staff who cleans up constantly and comes and asks you if you need something. Really one of the best hotel gyms I have seen. Great equipment, great staff, etc.

Restaurant on third floor was good.

Loved that there was no casino or super drunk gross people. Would not stay there again because there are so many great places in Vegas.

Room Tip: Loved my room, when I finally got it. Had a suite.
