“Refined spacious rooms”
Reviewed March 20, 2013 via mobile

An oasis in the strip. We had two interconnecting cityscape rooms on the 17th floor. We had to wait past the 3 pm check in so they gave us a $ 50credit for drinks. The pool area is lovely with loungers as comfortable as a bed. The water in one pool was heated. The breakfast if all a la carte and good coffee does exist in the USA, well at least here. The bad aspects to this hotel were the way one had to change elevators to go from the public spaces to the rooms. This seemed to annoy and confuse most guests as several times we had conversations with strangers on this topic. The other is If YOU LIKE READING IN BED FORGET IT THE LIGHTING IS TERRIBLE AT NIGHT FOR THIS. Designers seem the think that people only should read tablets or kindles, however there were several magazines in our room and trying to read them in the lovely bed was pretty hard unless you were under 40 and had 20/20 vision. But the lighting in the bathroom was good for putting on makeup

We booked this hotel as part of a package because we are neither big gamblers nor big fans of smoke filled hotels. What an oasis of peace and tranquility in the heart of Las Vegas. It is right on the strip between the Monte Carlo and Aria but the second you leave the busy sidewalk you enter a quiet and tranquil setting that is geared towards service.

The rooms are fantastic and even the basic package has incredible amenities. Every need is anticipated and the rooms come equipped with pretty much everything. This might be a bit of a splurge but it is well worth it. After a day of shopping or exploring it was truly a relief to return to our serene little spot on the strip for some down time.

Room Tip: The "Strip View" rooms look North and would have more action. They also cost more. The...

Amazing and relaxing hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights. Having been to Vegas many times and knowing how crowded and busy hotels are, I decided on this hotel based on the reviews. First time in a mandarin oriental, now I don't want to stay anywhere else. This is a peaceful, zen like, ultra modern, classy hotel. the hotel is nestle in city center and is very accessible to the strip and walking distance to everything. Service is outstanding and amazing, I felt like I was VIP the entire time. They went out of there way to make us happy. Bar/lounges are great and the drinks are amazing. We got a cityscape room and got a great view of the strip and city center. The room is small but stocked with every luxury and gadget you can think of. The most tech room I have ever stayed in. Well appointed and decorated. The bathroom is spacious and has a beautiful soaking tub that overlooks the room and the view outside. Bathroom had a tv too. The best part the pool and spa. The pool is small but the zen surroundings was incredible. It was nice to sit there and watch the beautiful people in a relax setting. Again, quite and relax is the key word in this hotel. I visited several spas in 2 other popular hotels during my visit and the mandarin spa was the best by far, out of this world, worth the extra $$$.
I have to say this is the first time ever I have stayed at a hotel and felt like royalty and VIP all the way without the price tag.
*I did want to mention that this hotel is casino free and smoke free. There are smoke designated areas in the hotel and the Aria and the Cosmopolitan have plenty of casino just a short 3-5 minute walk away.

We are at the beginning of our 3 day stay...check-in was seamless; professional, friendly and efficient. Our suit is beautiful with a view of the Strip...but no noise from down below. The location couldn’t be any better, most of the main hotels/casinos are with walking distance and there is a super luxury shopping mall right across the street. We love the interior decoration and feel at home here...we recently stayed at the Hong Kong Landmark and would compare it very favorably to it. Still haven’t eaten here nor seen the swimming pool but will do that later today. All in all, we are very pleased to be in this hotel.

We moved from the Palazzo (see separate review) to the MO strip view room for 3 nights as we got a great deal. The room and view and check in experience were much more wow! You check in on 21st floor and then have to take a separate elevator to room floors (I found this a slight nuisance) We were offered an upgrade to a suite at around $250 per night but happy with room we booked.

It was a special trip and the hotel picked up on the note in our booking and shortly after arrival brought a lovely little cake to the room.

The hotel is really lovely and our 19th room had a good view towards Crystals, Paris, Planet Hollywood etc. Small compared to Palazzo room, but much trendier and full of cool gadgetry – tv in bathroom was the actual mirror, not set into it, but the mirror itself. Great cupboard by the door so that things can be delivered and collected without disturbing you, eg they can access the cupboard and put your daily paper in and then a message flashes up on the tv to say there is something for you, and you can retrieve it from your side without opening your room door. Good big safe with charger for ipad/laptop.
Good hairdryer and straighteners in the bathroom saved me going to the salon! Nice Shanghai Tang toiletries and lovely bath salts – I really enjoyed the bath experience in this room.

Small sofa area and usual desk. Wardrobe/dressing area.

I found that I could hear a bit of what was going on in neighbouring rooms, especially when next door was running a bath/shower.

Great position mid strip for easy access to nearly anywhere. Close to Aria, Paris, PH, NYNY, Cosmo etc

Tea/coffee available at coffee shop on 3rd floor but only 6-8 am so managed that once. Did not eat in hotel and never managed to make it to the wonderful looking bar! Saw people having afternoon tea which looked super also.

Only found out via other trip reports after I got home that you can get a print out for an art tour of the City Centre complex including stuff in the MO – wish they told you that when you are there!

By the end of our 3 day stay I sort of missed having a casino on the property as although we don’t gamble that much, we do like to spend an hour at the end of the night at the casino on home base.

Short wait at check out. Very pleasant staff throughout the hotel. Overall very good stay and I would certainly return if the price was right. Left here and headed to the Encore (see separate review)

This hotel really is an oasis of calm and serenity right smack bang in the middle of the madness of Vegas. Its an ultra modern hotel with large fabulous rooms that have everything you could possibly need and the bathrooms are pure luxury. I loved Vegas but after a night of partying it was such a pleasure to come back to a hotel that was so calm and quiet. The pool area is good. Again its very modern and calm and a great spot to hang out and ease your way into the day after a late night on the town. My only negative was the $60 charge for a trip to the hotel spa which I think should be complimentary to guests. But overall I absolutely loved this hotel, and in my opinion (unless you're looking for a 24hour party) its the only way to do Vegas!!
