The ambiance is beyond explanation and it always buzzing. Don't go out when it's hot, though. The Vegas sun can be unforgiving. The view of the hotels is amazing and the shops are plentiful.

Ok rule one ,It's very very hot so drink water and do not dehydrate. Walking the strip is an experience that has to be done when visiting Las Vegas. You have to do it twice, Daytime and night time but be warned in the heat it is a long long way and you get exhausted very quickly so do it at your pace and pop into air conditioned shops and hotels for rest stops. The trips are all about characters that make up the strip ( and of course the hotels, cafe's and shops). Most of the people want some of your money either by selling you trips or items being dressed up in some cartoon type character for a photo or just begging but all of these are the strip so take them in your stride. They do speak to you but do not ignore them, a simple" Thank you but no thanks "usually gets a response of "Thank you have a good day ". If you take a photo with one of them a tip is expected and let's be honest standing in a costume all day in the heat deserves something. During the day children are no problem but be warned when out with them at night you will see people with less clothes on as usual and women of the night are evident all be it they are descreet. The hotels and casino's have atmosphere ( and sometimes false sky ) to keep you in, to spend money, and to find a clock is virtually impossible so watch the time yourself. If this has put you off walking along the strip ( which I hope it has'nt ) you can always take the Deuce Bus which does the strip about every 20 minutes ( double decker stops at most places and the bus that looks like a train is the express and stops at less stops ) $8 for a 24hr pass on and off as you like. Buy ticket before getting on bus from machines by bus stop. ( exact money,no change given) This is a quick general 'Do the strip review' to go into detail would take a book. I will write a review on various parts of the strip/hotels under there own names to go with this one. All I can say is ENJOY and take everything in. As far as I am concerned the Strip is safe and is well policed

When booking my Vegas trip, I was actually wondering if we would find enough to do during the day (we had show tickets for most nights). Well, no need to worry as there are loads of things to do during the day just by walking around the Strip!!! We walked along and checked out all the interesting casinos with their free displays and fabulously glitzy and tacky building designs, took photos, rode a rollercoaster and did lots of people watching. It was super fun and walking along at night is also very entertaining (of course).

I wish we'd planned a little more time for our visit so I'll just have to go back one day!

After explored Grand Canyon, we drove 4 hours to Las Vegas which is a crazy and amazing place.
Based on reviews, we returned the rental car and walked on the strip. Even it was hot in the middle of August with 100F degree, the strip was also "hot" to attract lots of tourist.
In one and half days, we watched KA show, walked and picked some hotels for viewing, gambled for fun and ate buffets somewhere. Bring hats, sun glass, sun cream, water, and camera.
LV is the place which is not enough that you just go one time!
