“New Years at JW in Vegas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

Great location - Friendly/helpful staff - Good casino that's neither too smokey nor too crowded.

Wife and I LOVED staying at the JW in Summerlin over New Years. Everything was perfect from the greeting by the (free) valet to check-in staff to the size & design of our room. Staff is VERY friendly and accomodating.

Good sized casino with many slot machines and several table games (2 craps). The crowd was primarily hotel guests and locals age range between 45 and 75. A nice break from the "strip" demographic of loud, drunk, crowded and smokey!

We did not use the spa facility but the exercise area is top-notch and Starbucks (on property) opens at 6:00.

All future leisure trips to Vegas will include lodging at the JW!

We were wanting to stay away from the "strip" and this hotel more than fit the bill. The room was spacious and well appointed. The gounds were marvelous. We stayed during December so the pool was not an option but the outdoor jacuzzi was nice. The staff was more than helpful (this includes the front desk to the room staff)... really great people. The stay was great.

I purchased 2 living social deals which included a 2 night stay breakfast and a $100 hotel credit per stay.
Asked all the right questions on how to use the credit, have been charged 96.00 to my credit card after I was told I have no balance due, have phoned twice to resolve the matter but so far the money has not been put back on my card. I had enjoyed the actual stay but now I don't feel like they are stepping up to the plate. Will make one. More phone call tomorrow then will contact the BBB

Stayed two nights in December. Room was fantastic. Breakfast buffet was very good. Location is way off Strip but worth it. Casino is small but nice. No poker room is a downside. Dinner buffet is typical Vegas. All staff at facility were great. Highly recommend.

I've stayed at this hotel many times. It's always clean. Check in and out is fast. They seem to be sold out a lot but it never seems like the hotel is busy (which is a good thing). The rooms here are very big if you're staying in the main section. The other section has 1 and 2 bedroom suites but the standard rooms are smaller and not as nice. The beds here are also super comfortable. The drawback to this hotel is the lack of stores/restaurants inside. There is a Starbucks, irish bar, several upscale restaurants, and a cafe. However, only the cafe seems to be open most hours. Also, they have a store with "essentials" but it also has limited hours and is very expensive. There is also a casino in the hotel and a beautiful pool, in the summer. Overall, I love this hotel. It's beautiful and comfortable. I do wish they had more restaurants open for longer hours.

Room Tip: Ask to be in the main section

Stayed here for one night during a road trip from LA to Denver. What a great stop. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. I managed to have a good sushi dinner, use the spa, have a great massage (ask for Trish), win some money on the slots and have a great breakfast. The resort is large and fun to explore. It is away from the strip but looks like a great self contained spot to go and relax. The staff were very nice, the facilities were spacious and very well kept. I was impressed by the spa. Lots of equipment, sauna, steam, etc.

Property is nice and well kept. The overall value is good, the breakfast buffet, which was included in our room deal was decent. Downside is the pool, which was constantly overrun by hundreds of (sometimes severely drunk) locals who can buy day or season passes for the hotel pool for a few dollars. The pool could have been so nice - but it was obvious that the regular hotel guests mostly had a hard time finding sunbeds.
You can choose this hotel if you don't need the pool. Everything else was nice.
