“Come hungry; VERY hungry!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

We started with their complimentary fresh, warm garlic bread with marinara dipping sauce. Loaded with garlic! Although I'm not a huge meatball fan, based on reviews, we had to try their Kobe meatball with ricotta. Oh my! It's the size of a softball, and was very tender and delicious. Also shared a wedge salad that was definitely large enough for 2. Yummy dressing and full of blue cheese. I don't recall the menu description, but it didn't taste like your average bacon. We both think it may have had crispy pork belly instead, and it was wonderful. Lastly, we shared the chicken Parmesan. Pounded so thin, it took up the entire space of a large platter; they certainly don't skimp on any garlic here! Was also very good, but we ordered way too much food. We didn't finish the giant meatball or the chicken. Great service and overall great dinner.

“Salt, salt, and more salt.”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

The atmosphere to this restaurant is what drew us in. But, the food (we eat a lot of Italian food) was sub-par. It tasted like someone accidentally dumped the salt canister into my meal.

“Great Italian food.”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

This was some really good Italian food. Not fru fru stuff, real down home Italian choices with home made pastas and gluten free options. Your server will tell you, but you have to have the meatball as an appetizer to share. It is as big as a softball and delicious. The portion sizes are good for the price too. It can get very pricey since nothing is included with your meal. Appetizers and salads are all extra and range about $12-$20 each. The service is excellent. My only issue with the restaurant is that it is also a nightclub so I felt like the music was loud (and not typical Italian music :) and got louder as the evening went on. Also, they pack them in so between the music and the crowd, definitely not a place for a quiet romantic dinner for two.

Lavo boasts about having the best meatballs around. They're grade a kobe beef. There is even a video on the internet about these darn meatballs. I was convinced they would be delicious. Instead they were salty and underwhelming. Also ordered: chicken parmesan - mediocre, calamari - good, mussels and clams in white wine sauce - good, pizza - okay. Overall Lavo is simply average with above average prices.

“I love this place!”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

This is the second time I have eaten at Lavo. The first time was with girlfriends and this time was with family. It is perfect no matter the occasion, as you can tell from the diverse group of diners here. You'll see a Bachelorette party seated next to a table of folks who could be your grandparents, next to a couple, next to a family. It's perfect for anyone!

We stayed at this hotel, so I brought my family here based on how much I enjoyed it last year. We had an amazing server, Donnie, and sat outside overlooking the Strip. Everything here is delicious - especially the Eggplant Parm and the Oreo Zeppole dessert. Definitely go here if you can. It is worth the trip from whatever hotel you are staying it, but it should not be missed if you are at the Palazzo!
