Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel

If you have a vehicle it is not a bad hotel to stay at. About 12km from the Strip, in an area where there isn't much to do. I paid $40 US /night, stayed 3 nights on my way to Palm Springs California. Free parking at any hotel on the Strip, so that's what we did. The smoke in the casino area did not affect the room, we were on the 11th floor. Nice that they had security 24/7 in the parking lots. Overall I would stay there again, although it may not be my first choice. But if you book early (we booked a few days before) you may be able to get a hotel on the Strip for a little more, but of course there are the resort fees. Didn't use the fitness center or spa. I am particuliar about cleanliness and most people would find the room clean, however it was Ok, not like I would keep it i.e. cleaning the nooks and crannies with a toothbrush. But again it is a hotel with lots of guests. The lighting in the washroom was not bright enough. The free WiFi, Starbucks coffee, danish and paper are bonuses along with no resort fees.

Love the room. It's spacious & very clean. No visible stain or mark on carpet. Nice & comfortable bed. Room came equipped with refrigerator, ironing board & iron. No coffee maker. Liquid soap in the shower & over the sink, but body lotion is available upon request. Beware if you are traveling from far away & tired and if you think you maybe able to check in prior to appointed check in time which is 3:00pm. Good luck with that. We walked up to the check in desk where 2 ladies were conversing, they finally stop talking long enough to address us. We told them that we were there to check in & was told a matter of factly that the check in time is 3pm & we have one hr to go before check in time & then went back to converse with her friend. No other explanation. The nice room made up for it. The 24 hr coffee shop employed a nice friendly staff. But if hankering for a late night snack go for dessert. We ordered BLT & the B is chewy not crispy.

Stayed here for the first time in my 6th visit to Las Vegas and it was the best hotel experience I've ever had in Vegas. Away from the busy, heavy traffic loaded and crowded strip but still with that Vegas-feel to it. Easy and fast check-in, friendly staff, nice big rooms with beautiful view (13th floor, I thought they didn't have a 13th in the US?) and well maintained. Parking was easy near the hotel entrance. Had to figure out how the elevator worked with your room key. You get a coupon for free coffee and bagel in the morning.
Payed $56 for 2 night incl. tax. Best of all, there is no resort fee! Will stay again on my next visit, o doubt about it!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for the best views.

Nice rooms, beds are good, easy parking, free wi-fi, friendly/helpful staff and QUIET surroundings.
We stayed on the strip as well (at Ballys) and did not like it. They charged extra for internet access! and parking was a nightmare. You're almost forced to use valet parking.

We highly recommend East Side Cannery.

We actually prefer to stay off-strip and chose this location because it was near another destination we wanted to go to. Check-in and check-out were both a lengthy nightmare with a snotty attendant both times. The room was very nice. Housekeeping was banging on the door at 10am despite do not disturb sign. They charged a $75 incidentals deposit (although there are no incidentals in the room). I still haven't received it back a week later. I liked that there was no resort fee and free wifi. No coffee in the room, but they give you a free cup of coffee and a stale danish at the bottom of the elevator in the morning. The room was nice and clean, and there was a mini fridge. The room was very dark and almost impossible to put on makeup. The casino was unremarkable and just like any other. We did not try any of the restaurants here, however we did order room service. B/f had steak and eggs and I had a bagel for around $35 and food was good. All in all, I would stay there again...if they ever give me back my $75 deposit.

Still pleased to report there is no resort fee at the Cannery. Yahoo!! Our stay was great, loved the room and appreciated the coffee, muffins and newspaper every morning. We spent time in the smoky casino and ate in the restaurants. All good - however this is what happened when we checked in for our second stay and yes, the price we paid was exceptionally low, a real bargain in fact. We were advised that early check-in was not possible because the hotel had been full - 100% understandable. When we returned later two room options were offered so we hesitated, trying to decide which would suit us best. We asked if we could take a look at the rooms and were advised that we could not pre-inspect and further advised that we would have to keep which ever room we chose - in other words, she (or the Cannery) would not allow a change even if we didn't like the room for whatever reason. We felt like obstreperous children checking into at a nice hotel. In comparison, a few weeks later we stayed at the three star Mardi Gras Hotel in Las Vegas for five nights. Early check-in was again not available but the friendly receptionist helped us choose the location of the room and even gave us keys to inspect two of them in advance. When we returned at 2:30pm the room was ready and served us well. No matter what job we do we always have to remember that words continue speaking long after the mouth is closed.

For more than 30 years I have been travelling to Las Vegas of a convention called NAB. This year we decides to stay OFF the strip and rent a car. What a great decision. We enjoyed everything East side cannery provided. It was nice to enjoy a breakfast the was not costing over $20. In fact bill for two breakfasts was under $20.
this is one hotel we are coming back to.
