“A Surprise”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

Booked this hotel mainly because they don't charge the exorbitant "resort fee", exactly they don't charge one at all. The "resort fee" is just a way for 'strip hotel' to make more money on things other hotels in the country provide free of charge, like internet usage. BUT I digress, The Eastside Cannery is a great place to stay, large clean rooms. Great A/C. Front desk service for issues is outstanding. The casino is nice with a wide variety of slot machine choices. Even the buffet, although less expensive by far than most is pretty good. Definitely would stay there again if the opportunity arises. And the overall rate was a bonus.

Room Tip: Definitely check it out when you're visiting Vegas.

I don't normally stay at this hotel when I am in Las Vegas, but thought I might try some place different than usual. I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and comfortable my room was and that wherever else I wandered within the hotel/casino the whole of it was very clean. The room was spacious, well decorated with a great view. The only down sides I experienced were minimal and easily forgotten. The room did not offer a coffee maker, therefore one needs to leave their room and visit one of the restaurants, or order room service. The other downside was the friendliness, or should I say lack of, by the front desk personnel. They were not rude, but they did not display or render a welcoming smile and attitude upon check-in, nor a thankful smile and attitude upon departure. On the other hand, the service I received in the restaurants was FANTASTIC and made up for that lacking at the front desk. I will certainly stay at this establishment again and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone visiting Las Vegas.

If you are looking for a inexpensive clean, quiet place off the strip you can't go wrong. Truly an older crowd. Staff could use some customer service classes, not unfriendly but I didn't see very many smiling faces. The rooms were extremely clean. Maid service should teach the classes for the other staff members.

For those who like to avoid the hassle and crowds of the Las Vegas Strip, this is a great place. A variety of restaurants are available, casino of course, entertainment on most nights. Hotel rooms are very nice, clean, and modern. I have stayed there several times and would definitely recommend it if you just don't want to deal with crowds. If you still want to go exploring on the strip, it's only a short drive.

However hotel is localized outside the strip, it provides with everything you might need. Rooms are perfect and it was awesome price for the stay. We enjoyed very much. Of course has a casino and several bars and restaurants, plenty of parking. Very modern and nice place all over.

Although I was upset in the way our registration was handled (I'm a local resident that was celebrating my birthday in April) I really prefer the Eastside Cannary over the the Craig Road location. I've stayed at the Eastside three times so far and like the slots and video poker machines. I was given a reduce room rate to stay again but have not able to go back for my night stay. Although it is a distance from the madness of the strip you have two large hotels near by-Boulder Station and Sams Town. Other smaller location 1 right across the street and others not in walking distance are available and better to see during the day. Additional comments-I have to disagree with some of the comments on the stuffines of the smoke in the hotel. I've never had an incident with smoke and if I have the choice to move in case someone starts smoking there is no problem. The hotel is not in an depressed area. There are homes located all around the hotel. It is better to rent a car rather than take a cab. You can take a short walk up to Sams Town and catch their transfer bus. Give them a call.

After staying on the strip on our previous trip we decided to stay in this hotel as it was recommended by the locals. So glad we did! We got a great rate and a spacious corner room with views to the strip and the mountains. Windows were floor to ceiling and we didn't shut the curtains the whole 7 nights we were there!! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and while we were there the hotel celebrated it's 5th Birthday and everyone had complimentary champagne and birthday cake (nice touch). Plenty of nice places to eat at "off strip" prices, and casino was never busy and smokey like those on the strip. Would definately stay here again when we are next in Vegas. Thank you Eastside Cannery for a wonderful stay!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor as the views are spectacular!!
