Bally's Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada is our choice hotel for the family's four days three nights stay in Las Vegas. Strategiclaly located in the Strip, one can walk to the nearby casinos.....Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, Paris and many others. McDonald is a few blocks away where I bought our breakfast package.......coffee and sausage muffins. It also hosts the Jubilee Show ......the tradtional Las Vegas follies dancers.....which the children watched and enjoyed on their first evening. The slot machines surprisingly were quite friendly since my cousin won $200 unexpectedly while waiting for his beer to be served. In the lounge, one can sit down to enjoy the music from the band in the evenings. The audience are welcome to dance in the small space in the middle of the bar. The parking buildings are easill accessible although one may have some difficulty finding a slot due to the heavy inflow of hotel guests and casino players. On the basement of the Bally's is a connecting strip to Paris where many gourmet restaurants can be found. The Italian bread we bought on our last morning was quite delicious. Unforgettable was our breakfast in the Italian bakehouse. While, it was our first time to stay in Ballys, we had a grand time.

This was our second stay at Bally's. the check in was fast but since we arrived early we were told to come back at three. Since we had a show to go to we did not make it till 8 pm back. When we were trying to finish our check in we were told to stand on the platinum line. A male rep questioned in a rude way why we were standing in that line. We explained and his facial expressions were not polite. Some other lady checked us in but did not care to tell us which way to go or what our room number was. She seemed upset of the line we where standing on. We finally went thru the paperwork and found our room. The remote on room did not work and neither did the buttons on the side of the tv. We left a message for our maid to provide new batteries but she only took the note and did not replace the batteries. :-/. It was very annoying to watch tv like this when your trying to relax. I also missed the coffee maker in the room, I guess they remodeled and took it out.

Decided to take my son to Vegas for the weekend to see Cris Angel's show "Believe" , which is excellent by the way, anyways after deciding where to stay I chose Bally's. This turned out to be the best hotel I have stayed at in Vegas so far compared to the Tropicana, Lady Luck, Luxor and the the Rio. From check in to check out everything went very smoothly. The best part of this hotel is the location, right in the middle of the strip across the street from the Belagio, which if you stay in the south tower and ask for a strip view room at check in will give you an excellent view of the dancing water fountains. The south tower is the older part of the hotel and is a little dated but is great for the view. The north tower has the renovated rooms but not as good of a view. The rooms at Bally's are huge at 450 sq ft compared to the average Vegas room. Bally's is connected to the Paris hotel and they share a parking garage which is easily accessible. Bottom line, if you want to stay at a nice hotel with a excellent location, good service, good food at a fair price then I would definitely recommend Bally's.

We had a wonderful stay during that week between CES and Superbowl. Bally's is well located on the center of the "Strip" connected to Paris and on the Monorail to the convention centre.

But let's be honest. Once Harrah's took over Bally's, Paris, etc. they have not made real improvements to the properties. Even the Harrah's Total Rewards program is worse than what was offered at the Flamingo, Bally's and Paris prior to the takeover..

However, that said, they are more generous with their comps than other chains, and we were the happy recipients of 5 days hotel stay at no charge. We paid $10 for the upgrade to the North Tower's deluxe room. The room was large, 48" flat screen TV, a good view of the casino roof, the furniture was refurbished 1960's stuffed couches, but with a modern equipped desk, very comfortable king bed and a large refurbished bathroom. The only real improvements I must recommend are better shower heads, and a better thermostat. The shower head squeaks and the thermostat clearly does not care what it is set to and operated to its own tune. Better quality bedding and pillows would make the room feel more deluxe but those provided were adequate.

Like the room, the hotel itself has been refurbished, but not improved. It is the same place as the one I visited in the 1970's, clean and well maintained. Yet, the casino games are fresh and friendly, the staff chatty and efficient, check in/out was smooth and friendly and if it was not near all of the Wynn properties that show what "could be done" you would say it was fine, if not great.

For food, well, we went elsewhere. I like the cafe and crepe place in the hallway over to the Paris, and the All-you-can-eat breakfast for $11 seemed like good value. But other than that we did not try the food at Bally's. I used to like the Bally's sports bar, but there is a lot of construction going on there so it was uncomfortable. I have eaten at the Steakhouse and was pleased with it, but have not been back there in 5 years.

I hope your visit is as nice as ours. I just hope you are luckier at the tables!

Las Vegas is something everyone should experience at least once. Bally's is centrally located on the strip, across from Caesars and Bellagio and connected to Paris. That is a big factor in its favor, and the pricing is good there. All of the staff were very observant of the visitors to make the stay enjoyable. The greeting concierge, the check-in staff, even the housekeeping employee washing the glass doors, all greeted us with a smile and a welcome.

Our king bed room in the North Tower was quite spacious, with a view of the parking garage across the street (though who comes for the view?). Upholstery was a bit faded on the furniture, but everything was clean and neat. When a lightbulb in the room wasn't working when we arrived, we told the housekeeper and she immediately got it replaced.

We stayed there for a conference and it was too bad they didn't have free wifi in the hotel, although many hotels don't offer this amenity so you can't fault Bally's for charging too. Most guests probably have service through their devices anyway.

The casino is very standard, nothing at all special that I noticed. The smoking allowed in the casino is a big negative to me. It hits you right when you walk in the lobby (though the nonsmoking hotel rooms were just fine).

It is nice that Bally's is connected via a shopping walkway to Paris. It doubles the facilities available without having to go outside in bad weather.

Pool was closed for the season and renovations while we were there. Guests were invited to use the Paris pool, but who wants to go that far? No exercise facilities in the hotel. Or, I should say, for $25 you could use the equipment at the spa. Thanks, not at that price.
