Reviewed July 21, 2013

We booked a suite at this hotel for our 4day stay in early July. As we were taking the entire family, very few hotels in LV can accommodate families or groups larger than 4 so we were excited that the stratosphere had a suite available. We arrived at 9:30 at night and right away I was surprised at how smokey the casino was. As we entered our suite in the towers, it was clear that this room had seen a lot of families, parties and use. Marks all over the walls that were obvious attempts at removal by a magic eraser leaving white smudges instead. Ere were Pop can tops on the floor and used bandaids stuck to the side of the sink. No pictures adorned the walls and cheap, old furniture served as the living rm area of our "suite". It looked like some ramshackled, old motel one would find along the highway if you were desperate enough to stop. We did not stay longer than it took for us to find other accommodations. When I travel, especially with my family, I want to stay in an environment that is as nice or nicer than my own home. . If u have never stayed in las Vegas, this is the place people might stay if price was the determining factor and all your time was going to be spent in the casinos or elsewhere. Aside from the room, the staff was accommodating and understanding when we checked out an hour after we checked in. They also refunded our money with out us needing to ask.

Here's the thing with the Stratosphere.... it's cheap, and its relatively clean. It however does have a poor location, since nearby hotels have been demolished. There's no fridge or clock in the room. And you have to pay for internet. This hotel does charge a resort fee, like most hotels in Vegas, however the only real perk to the fee at the stratosphere is..... nothing really. Whiles staying there however you are able to go to the top of the building for free allowing up to 4 people, which was pretty cool since they over charge in the first place to go up. We were glad we had rented a car since this hotel is really far down the strip from the good hotels. We'd actually drive to The Venetian and park there and hang out at that side of the strip, and then drive back to the stratosphere.... call us lazy, but it is a hike. I found an empty chip back behind the night time stand which was gross, but I used to work in the hotel industry and I know what to look for and where. Since the hotel room didn't have a fridge, we filled a bad full of ice and put it in the sink.... it kept all our drinks cold. The casino itself is ok, but it is missing a lot of the newer types of games. It's close to a good souviener shop though. I hate that this has been one of the only hotels that you have to pay for the internet. I feel that should have been included in the resort fee. $11.99/daily isn't worth it in my books, so family had to wait to see our vacation pictures. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. You want cheap, then you get cheap.

Such a biiiigggg hotel but still very clean. Stayed in the newly renovated room and paid almost nothing for it. Parking is free, access to the towers are free. Location is just at the end of the strip. Staff is kinda unfriendly, but who cares, hey this is not a spa or a retreat location. Rooms are big and clean. Unbeatable for this rate.

We have been to Vegas before and don't tend to stay at the big hotels, but this was just bug enough. The room was large and airy and we had upgraded for a room with a view and it was not disappointing as we got a lovely sunset each evening. The hotel is away from the main strip so if you don't have a car you might find this a problem and the area was not brilliant around the hotel, but there was lots of work going on.We would stay here again

Great hotel for first time visit to Las Vegas. Loved the buffet in the mornings - as a Brit I still can't quite get over the fact that Americans have steak for breakfast!! But loved it myself! Room was big and airey and we could see the surrounding mountains. The view from the 108th floor was staggering and fascinating and just perfect. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We got a great deal at this hotel for 5 nights, asked to upgrade when we got there which we did, $100 for a strip view jacuzzi room. Jacuzzi was lovely, strip view not so much. Not alot going on. Room was very clean, lovely hotel overall enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful. We didn't do the rides but the view from the top was amazing!! Probably wouldn't stay again due to being a bit outside the strip but if the hotel was closer then we would for sure!!

Was in town for a three day matrial arts competition. The room was cheap and very clean. Had a fairly decent view of the strip as well. Didn't like the smoky casino, but thats life. The best part was jumping off of the Stratosphere Tower 100+ stories high. Although it was a $149 jump, it was well worth it. Next time is a night time jump. I would def stay there again simply because of the price.

Room Tip: The higher the room, the better the view of the strip.
