“Great hotel for first time visit”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

Great hotel for first time visit to Las Vegas. Loved the buffet in the mornings - as a Brit I still can't quite get over the fact that Americans have steak for breakfast!! But loved it myself! Room was big and airey and we could see the surrounding mountains. The view from the 108th floor was staggering and fascinating and just perfect. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We got a great deal at this hotel for 5 nights, asked to upgrade when we got there which we did, $100 for a strip view jacuzzi room. Jacuzzi was lovely, strip view not so much. Not alot going on. Room was very clean, lovely hotel overall enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful. We didn't do the rides but the view from the top was amazing!! Probably wouldn't stay again due to being a bit outside the strip but if the hotel was closer then we would for sure!!

Was in town for a three day matrial arts competition. The room was cheap and very clean. Had a fairly decent view of the strip as well. Didn't like the smoky casino, but thats life. The best part was jumping off of the Stratosphere Tower 100+ stories high. Although it was a $149 jump, it was well worth it. Next time is a night time jump. I would def stay there again simply because of the price.

Room Tip: The higher the room, the better the view of the strip.

Being away from the strip. I was a bit worried about staying in this hotel, however I couldn't asked for better! The staff were friendly and helpful and there were lots of amenities to keep us entertained. The rides on top of the tower were also really fun. I definitely recommend going to the Top of the World restaurant too.

January/February 2013 we visited Vegas and The Stratosphere wasn't in my top 5 but everyone seemed happy with the price so we went for it.

It's location means a good walk into all the "Vegas Strip life" but mostly getting Cabs everywhere.
Rooms were very dated, hotel all over generally smells.
you have to pay a resort fee upon arrival - which shouldn't be necessary.

We did make the most of it and if you get a very very cheap price it's okay but I would not go back unless it was under half the price of other named/themed hotels.

I am currently on night one of two at the Stratosphere on honeymoon with my wife. We have travelled from Phoenix to LA to San Jose through Yosemite and Death Valley, staying in cheap hotels, motels and couches and have now arrived in Vegas. Vegas! The difference between the other hotels and motels we have stayed in on our trip and the Stratosphere is that these other places, in our opinion, were simply a place to crash and have a sleep after spending the day and most of the night doing things elsewhere. In Vegas though, many of the hotels are destinations in themselves as casinos, hospitality and customer service. This being the case, we expected the hotel to exceed the level of service we have experienced elsewhere on our trip and not simply a room to stay in. No free wi-if, TV is mostly PPV, the bar staff are indifferent, no-one seems to care (save from Marc at the General Store around the corner) that it is our honeymoon, and the sink in the room was blocked and overflowing with food (possibly puke). We reported this of course, and on our return it was unblocked, with the remains of the food/puke still coating the sink, though the sink is now drained. Given that the attraction of Vegas are the hotels, the service, the experience, we are left pretty disappointed. Sure, we expect to hand over considerable amounts of money continually for the 'Vegas' experience, but so far we seem to be handing over an endless amount of money with little in return other than the basic service for which we are paying. Having worked in hospitality, bars, kitchens and restaurants and other areas of customer service for most of career I have realistic expectations regarding where I spend my time. It's simple, I want to feel like I am welcome, and want to leave planning my return trip. We are currently planning to leave early. There is nothing wrong with the hotel, don't get me wrong. It's fine. In fact, if it were in the middle of nowhere and after a nine hour drive all you want to do is grab an In N Out and have a sleep you would be quite happy. This level of service has been exceeded by everywhere we have stayed until now by the 'overnight in the middle of nowhere' motels. I would expect more from somewhere considered to be a destination unto itself.

Room Tip: Rooms are cheap, but bare in mind that wifi is 11.99 per device for 24 hours, breakfast isn't in...

We stayed here 2 nights and it was just awesome. The staff is friendly & helpful. The rooms are updated and very clean. There were no gross stains anywhere or weird smells. The price is great, beds are comfy & going up the tower for free is and added bonus. Our Bellman Chuck was awesome!
