Went there on April 14-18, 2013. Room was clean, but dissapointed that there was no coffee maker in room!!! Inquired at front desk and was informed they are only available in suites. If an extra one was available, it would be sent to us-no such luck. That is my only complaint.

Room Tip: I was a good deal for the money, but bring your own coffee maker!!!!

Well this Vegas trip I stayed in the "Select" room at the Strat. Based on my stay I imagine that "Select" means I select a room with no fridge, paper thin walls, an awful bed and pillows, and oh by the way close to the elevator. Oddly enough, I like the food here. Roxie's is a 50's diner that is always good, the fancy restaurant up top is very good and a neat option because of the views. The strangest thing is that the food at the pool is unbelievably good, I mean good. I had quesedillas that were the best I've ever had. Granted, beer was involved, but I'm telling you these things are good. Overall, if you're looking for a budget option, this place isn't bad. It's a long walk to either the strip or old town, but a cheaper cab ride to either since you're almost in the middle. The pool is on the roof so you don't have the shade issues that other hotels have with neighboring buildings. Being non central means you can find a $5 table most of the time, which seems to be getting more and more rare in Vegas. Also, an in house McDonalds makes for cheap easy food when you don't want a hassle. Free tip, on your cab ride to and from the airport, be sure to tell them "NO FREEWAY." They usually act offended like they would never dream of long hauling you, but trust me this will save you at least $10. The most direct route is straight down Paradise to this hotel.

Room Tip: Go for one of the suites if you can afford it and must stay here.

Went to Vegas, April 20-25, 2013 stayed at Stratosphere. We got into room and opened dresser drawers and there was garbage in them used kleenex. Called front desk, they said they would send someone up to clean, no one showed up. Went in to Washroom, not clean, door wouldnt close or lock. I normally have a great time where I go in Vegas, but disappointed enough to write a reveiw. Fremont Street was a blast, will stay there next time! Older hotels but talked to a couple staying in Golden Nugget and it was clean and cheap and staff were friendly. Got back from Freemont Steeet at 12:30pm and went into the bar by front door of Stratosphere and no service from the waitresses. They said they were busy, there was barely any people in there.

we stayed at the stratosphere in march I really never go in winter always summer.
any way we were staying there diamond resorts and we were given a room that had no safes
1970"s décor and on top of that the air conditioner was coming out of the wall called and front desk got different room witch again was 1970 décor over all I blame this on diamond resorts who are nothing but a joke and the stratosphere the hotel and clientele are pretty seedey
I will say the casino was nice and games up to date and I will say customer service was good
but really up date rooms and get diamond resorts out of there

Room Tip: you are better off staying at Tropicana harrahs quad flamingo

This hotel is a few blocks away from the main part of the strip but was cheaper than the other hotels on the strip (for us). The room price included free entry to the tower which gives a great 360 degree view of the city and a few thrill rides as well.
There are some good eating options to choose from as well as retail and convenience shops. You could easily spend a few days here without leaving the building (which is probably what they want...). The concierge did a great job of organising tours and shows for us and there is free valet parking.
Dislikes - having to walk through the smokey gaming area to get from the entrance & registration desk to the lifts (not the only hotel in Vegas designed like this) and our room didn't have a fridge.
In all this place was good value, has plenty to offer and probably a good option for families.

Stayed here after our Canyon trip. Thought the location will enable us to visit downtown. Though there are buses up and down the Strip and to downtown, the hotel is too far and too isolated. Downtown is just as quiet. There is nothing much around the hotel location. The excitement is around the mid and south Strip. Generally, rather quiet outside the hotel. The casino is also lack of patrons.

The hotel and the retail area looks a bit run down. Fortunately the room is spacious enough and clean. Choice of restaurants is limited in the hotel; more choice if walk a bit further north outside the hotel. The hotel rates here are good but I rather pay a bit more for a Las Vegas experience.

A last minute call got us two rooms at the Stratosphere and they were great value and reasonable rooms. The bathrooms look a little tired but at the price they were great value. The breakfast buffet was a treat for the children and they loved the variety.

We didn't go on any of the rides as they seemed expensive ($15 each) but overall a good experience.
