This hotel is badly in need of a refurb, the staff are friendly enough and the food in Roxy's Diner is very good, but the whole place is just a little frayed around the edges. Situated a bit too far out of the centre, a very long walk or a bus or taxi ride is needed to get to where the action is. It may be a cheaper option for a lot of people but I would pay a bit more and stay further down the strip next time. The tour I was on only used this hotel so I had no choice where to stay, but definitely wouldn't stay there again.

Stratosphere is a very clean and one of the good hotels in Vegas. but location is not so good . you always need a car or a cab to go to center of the city or shopping malls. room is OK, beds are so comfortable but location is poor.

I liked staying at this hotel but allergy sufferers beware as two of my friends had problems with sneezing, watery and itchy eyes due to air conditioning and smoking fumes in the casino. My room had a view of the tower (6032) which was cool. I would have liked tea making facilities but don't think this will happen as they want you in the casinos. The room was clean and comfortable but a bit basic. I loved that you could go up the tower for free as you were a guest. Also you get half price tickets for the shows that are on so it's only about $22-$25 a show. I saw Frankie Moreno who was brill and the Vampire topless show Bite which was quite good. I had lunch at Top of the World restaurant at top of tower. It revolves and has amazing views but a bit pricier than other restaurants due to this. You can even see those doing Sky Fall off the tower go by the window. The buffet is good near the casino and you can get on Deuce bus right outside hotel and it takes you down the strip. You can get off and on. It's $6 for two hours hop on hop off or $8 for 24 hours pass. It was good and many stops but does take a while to get round them all. Loved Vegas and liked this hotel.

We stayed here for a few nights recently to explore Las Vegas.

The location is a little further off the main Strip, but all other hotel and casinos have parking (I'm not sure if it's free though!) so they're easy to explore. Vegas is close to the Hoover Dam as well for a day trip (however, I remain incredibly unimpressed with the Visitor Centre there, just view the Dam itself!).

As with all casinos I've stayed at, the parking garage is quite a distance from the front desk, and there are few signs within the casino. The service at the front desk was good though, efficient and helpful. It would have been more useful if the express check-out service had been suggested at check-in though, there was a long queue when we were checking out!

Great to have unlimited free trips up the tower, fantastic view of the city.

We chose a 'Select' room as it was recently upgraded, but I was a little disappointed. The furnishings were new, but the bathroom cleanliness was quite poor, but not unusable. The beds are incredibly comfy (but request a room far away from the elevators!). Walls are paper thin, could hear all surrounding room conversations. Also, housekeeping came to our rooms pre-9am the day we were checking out, despite a 'Do not disturb' sign, which was a little strange.

Not sure if I'd stay here again, the rooms were of a higher standard than if you had paid a similar cost for one on the main Strip, but the location isn't ideal. Again however, free trips up the Stratosphere are a must-see, and if paying - it's $20+tax per person!

Room Tip: Request a high floor room (for the view) and one far away from elevators - as they are used throughout the night.

Our room was in the renovated section. Room was large and very nice whith a good view of the city. Unusually large shower/tub. Towels were new and plentiful. The staff couldn't have been friendly and more helpful-never in a rush. Casino busy but fun. Both McDonalds and Starbucks open late and on main floor. Other restaurants were futher away but surprisingly good and ok for the cost. The Roxy has a special breakfast deal if you are up early.

Although the hotel is not in the center of the strip the location is good. The bus is right at the door and runs every 15 minutes. Day passes are bought from the driver. I would definately recommend this hotel unless you cannot travel on the bus.

Room Tip: Pay the extra $15 to get a window view and to be in the Select tower.
