This Stratosphere hotel was our fifth hotel around our west coast trip, and we stayed two nights (from 9 to 11 of september 2012) in this hotel and our room was nº 134 on the 19th floor. we paid for that room forty dollar a day and another fifteen dollar because the tax wasn´t included . The breakfast wasn´t included and the internet cost 12$ a day.
Las Vegas is a huge city on a desert and when we were driving on the freeway we could see Las Vegas thirty miles (around 40 kilometres), so we thought the best time for arriving Las Vegas is at sunset.
The Stratosphere hotel is at the end of the strip but don´t worry because every hotel in Las Vegas have parking facilities and you can car park free without problems or if you enjoy walking along the strip you can walk about thirty or forty minutes and you will be close to other hotel.
When we arrived at Stratosphere hotel, we didn´t any problems with the parking facilities in the hotel, so when we left our car, we try to find the front desk, and we saw a young woman who was walking on the car park, and she told us she was working in Stratosphere Hotel and she told us "Don´t believe anyone because they only want your money" and she told us she didn´t like living and working in Las Vegas as well, and I agree with this young woman.
If you want to find the front desk you must walk across the casino and every hotel in Las Vegas is the same, you must walk along the casino, it´s the same The Stratosphere hotel, The New York hotel, Paris hotel...and when we arrived at the front desk there were a lot of people waiting for check-in and there were some workers at the front desk so we didn´t spend too much time waiting for the check-in.
When they gave us the room nº134 with two keys and they gave us a hotel map as well because this hotel has a lot of elevators, ways, shops, restaurants, slot machines, escalators... all that you want if you want to spend your money and we spent ten or fifteen minutes till finding our room.
The room is ok, the corridor until our room had carpet on the floor and it looked clean and the room had brown carpet as well, the room was big and it had two queens bed, big TV and different furnitures and this room has a good views, but we didn´t have anything else because obviously they wanted to spend your time and your money in the casino, so the room and the whole hotel is impersonal and I didn´t feel confortable.
The bathroom was ok, It had fresh towels and gel and champu and nothing else, but it was clean and worked properly.
The Swiming pool was good and we enjoyed a lot during the day.
If you have a room in Stratosphere hotel you will have free access to the top of the Stratosphere hotel and you will have nice views from the top and some people were jumping from the top of the hotel, but you must be crazy enough but up to you.
In brief, Las Vegas only once in our live it´s enough because you can see very poor people or rich people and if you don´t have money you don´t have anything.
PS: I would recomend the peppermill restaurant ( it´s opposite Circus hotel) and it´s amazing restaurant for eating
