“Peaceful and cozy!”
Reviewed November 25, 2012 via mobile

This hotel is nice and quiet. It sits a few long (walkable) blocks east of the strip, just behind the Flamingo hotel. We booked through the Westin website for $79 p/night, prepaid. A good price for the holiday weekend. With all the hotel choices, I chose this hotel for our last night in Vegas knowing the Westin beds are so comfy and we needed a good night of rest before our 12hr trip home...and the Westin provided just that!!

I am a devoted Starwood fan and have always enjoyed the Westin properties. The price is reasonable here. However, this one just feels tired with a lot of deferred maintenance. Lots of caulking and patches in the bathroom, and it took 5 minutes of running the water to get hot water in the morning. It is fairly close to the strip but probably not a walk. So, plan on a cab to anywhere you want to go. The rooms have received some updating but the experience is nothing like you would expect from a Westin or some of the other new properties on the strip. As a plus parking is very easy compared to other stip hotels.

Hello fellow trip-sters..
I attended a convention in Vegas - go figure. A last minute attendee, advance arrangements were not made so I worried that I had been "dumped" into the Westin. The approach is a little tricky, as your GPS will prove, but let me say this. Once you get onto the property - parking is easy [right up front or in the structure] the customer service was great and the attitudes from front desk to room service were excellent. The room was really nice - oooo, the bed... yeah, I love that bed. Flat screen TV, wireless in room, food was good. Overall, excellent!

The only negative is the traffic when trying to enter or exit. But come on... you have to expect traffic in Vegas right? I learned a little trick. Try to always swing around to come off of Koval. that way you turn from the outside lane and end up at the driveway after passing the gas station on the corner. You can also just walk to the strip. Its not that far - unless you hate to walk.

Another positive, the gas station on the corner. Cheap gas - fun people...

Finally - I can see how some would say businesslike - yes. But still inviting with one arm bandits aplenty to get a little gamblin fix. So, when you first approach, don't be fooled by the surrounding construction and dust - or the locals that like to hang at the bus stop up front. They were all pleasant and replied with a good morning/afternoon when greeted.

This Westin is a great place to stay and the strip is merely a walk away. I will stay again.

Have Safe Trips everybody!!!
Irvine Gil.

Room Tip: I was able to get early check in by accepting two queen beds. Otherwise, I would have had to wait se...

Nothing special here really. With so many great hotels in Las Vegas, I would say skip it. My room was noisey from the street and the bathroom had a plumbing problem. Close to the Strip but more like a 15 minute walk, so you might prefer a taxi anyway.

usual Westin. Good breakfast buffet. Short walk from the strip. Casino a bit dull but overall not a bad choice. Small pool area staff pretty helpful. Walk along Flamingo to eat at Bahama Breeze, my favourite or have breakfast at Terrible's casino, the best in town.

Room Tip: quieter at the back away from Flamingo rd

So this hotel has to be "right" for you. It is very close to the Strip- some may like the fact its not precisly on but right near. The one issue with that is the street it's off is a bit sketchy at night. It's not horrible but it's not my favorite street to walk down by myself at nite. You can sort of walk through Bally's and cross the street nearby. It is very close to the Westin.

The hotel is very business-oriented. The casino there is very clean, yet almost no one ever plays there and it's very dark in the casino. This may be a "pro" for some since there are lots of casinos around the corner.

The hotel itself is clean and functional. It doesn't necessarily have the luxury of some Westin's- I'd say it's a lower to mid-level Westin, but it's very clean. The room is average sized and very clean. It's much nicer than, say, the mid-level properties on the Strip like Bally's or Flamingo. Nice Heavenly Bed and nice bathroom and bath products. The towels in the bathroom are great.

The staff is also friendly. You can also take advantage of the 500 bonus points per nite if you don't get your room cleaned. This is a great perk if you are a member of SPG.

The restaurant in the hotel is also nothing that exciting. Once again, it is clean and I suspect that besides breakfast, it's not that busy. The Starbucks is huge and open 24/7.

This hotel has a pretty businessy and decent clientele. The rates don't seem to fall below 99 or 89 at the VERY best. I think this keeps out some folks. I'd say it's a good place for business people, families with kids and others that don't mind a little walk to the Strip and a little extra quiet upon return to their room.
