“Please renew those carpets”

We chose the Harrah's because it's location and the rate we got was great (Mirage was the first choice but the rates never went down enough). We wanted to save some money so we could invest in shows and better food... (We decided on the splurge of sleeping the first night in LV at the Venetian -separate review- , which just showed us what three times the cost can get you). We were able to walk to most places, or take the bus conveniently. Appreciated the shuttle to the Airport for a low cost as well. We asked for renovated rooms and got them for a couple of dollars a night, coffee maker included (terrible coffee though). The room size was okay, no sitting area beside a table and two chairs, 'Balcony' a joke. Bathroom with lots of counter space, but overall just for one person at a time. Light was totally inadequate for applying make up, and exhaust fan did not do the intended job. A/C worked well whenever we were in the room and moved around (nights got hot). Drapes not fully darkening. Bed was very comfy, we loved it. Nice to have a safe in the room. Also, the walk from room to elevator and other places or exits was not far at all. However, what really annoyed us was the reek in the elevators, and also in our non-smoking room. We found out how very dirty that carpet was, and could not walk around bare foot. Disgusting! Overall older crowd. If budget is important we would say this hotel fits the bill- just make sure you check your room very well immediately upon arrival.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the quiet Mardi Gras Tower. 11th floor and view of Mirage Volcano!

For a hotel in that spot in the middle of the Strip I would have expected cleanliness, and all in working order. It wasnt!!! the bathroom shower/bath tap leaked something awful and water all over the floor. Couldnt get anyone to come and fix it either!! the room was NOT clean and there was an electric plug actually hanging OFF the wall (dangerous) requests for a fix rated nothing!! Why were there NO tea making facilities???? Horrible horrible horrible. We worried because after a tour we actually had to spend another night there. A different room so at least the bathroom worked !! We spent most of the time at the pool thank goodness.

Green Features: The WASTE WATER which is crazy considering the water situation there. We were upset that all taps dripped or ran continuously because they wouldnt turn off properly and when we complained no one came and fixed them!!

Great location, right on the strip and that too in the middle of it. With a bus station and a metro station bang on it

We got a room in carnival court tower and was nice big size and since we booked our stay before march, we didn't have to pay the resort fees. The atmosphere in the hotel was lively like in all hotels in Vegas. Just outside the resort towards the north are a few eating/ snacking options with a Fat Tuesday close by for the frozen margaritas

What's not good, the check in and check out takes time, they ought to have more people. Early check in is possible if you become a locality card member, which is free and easy . Also gives you discount at serendipity!

Out of mini bar we consumed a coke and bottle of water , which at check out we were asked to pay 20 bucks!!! Since that was the deal ie irrespective if you consume 1 or all items of the mini bar the charge was 20$ but after speaking to the on duty manager they waived it off for us.

Surprising in this day and age their wasn't free wifi offered , not that we really missed it as I had Internet access on my mobile phone. And the breakfast offered as the package i our booking, which wasn't made clear earlier was a 9$ per person voucher at Starbucks. So it's not the usual buffet breakfast one is used to in hotels. Guess this should have been clarified earlier but we went out and did our breakfast

So I would recommend the hotel if one gets a sub 100$ a night deal including the resort fees

Stayed only for two nights, but aside from extremely poor internet connections (which I get, don't stay in the room, come downstairs to the casino), i had a fine stay. One thing to watch for, didn't get comped for my beers while playing max bet video poker at Toby Keith's in the hotel. Definitely not cool. Didn't use the pool, looked okay. For the price, ~55/night wasn't bad. I'm in Chicago, and $55/night won't get you into the motel 6 here.
Did eat breakfast in the "cafe". it came pretty quick, but the biscuits and gravy looked like they made it yesterday. They did give me a new one, and that was much better.
Checked in at 3:30, took all of 3 minutes. Checked out at 11, maybe took 10 minutes.

Room Tip: Had a view of the Mirage Volcano, it was loud, but stops at midnight.

Green Features: Lots of signs talking about it, didn't like the motion sensor a/c, but the room cooled off in a couple of minutes, so can't complain too much.

Last time I stepped foot in Harrah's a couple years ago it was really dirty and smelly and I thought I would never stay there. (We usually stay at Mandalay Bay or MGM.) Our whole family was staying at Harrah's this trip so I figured I could handle it for a couple of nights so that we could hang out with the family. We stayed at Harrah's June 9-11, 2013 and unbelieveably really had a great experience! Check in was so fast, we got our rooms before checkin time without any extra cost. (We had comp'd rooms through the Total Rewards.) Our room was clean, the casino was as clean as you can expect for a casino. It was very easy to get around from room to casino to street. We had no complaints. Room service food quality was not very good but service was fast and pleasant. The Ruth's Chris was really good too (a hidden treasure there at Harrah's). I see some bad reviews here but I really have to say that our experience was great.

We spent the last 2 nights of our extensive road trip at Harrah's and after reading several reviews we were quite concerned that that it would be such an anti-climax to what had been a brilliant trip for us. However, we were relieved to find our room was ok - not the nicest we have stayed in certainly but not as bad as we were anticipating. We had joined the Total Rewards club whilst at the Rio and were able to check in early with no charge at Harrah's - we had been warned not to get a strip-facing room in the carnival tower as these rooms are very noisy during the night and the lady on the front desk obliged by putting us in a quiet area of the tower.
We loved the central location of the hotel but the pool area is really small and busy so we didn't bother with it. When we were ready to leave we were able to pick up a shuttle bus at the back of the hotel to get to the airport - they are frequent and are a very reasonable cost. Although we probably wouldn't stay here again ourselves it is great if you are on a budget but want to be right in the middle of the Strip - we found it was worth obtaining a Total Rewards card beforehand for the free early check-in.

This Harrah's property is in perfect location in the middle of the Las Vegas strip. I was disappointed that shuttle service to and from the airport was not available, but we paid for shuttle service at the airport. Bus service is also available right outside of the hotel and monorail service. Check in was easy and fast, the front desk clerk was nice. Our room was located in the Mardi Gras tower and had a view of the Venetian Hotel and the air conditioning system. This was OK because we were never in the room in the daytime. The room was comfortable and quiet. Our stay was complimentary, but they charge a fee for everything else such as kiosks for printing boarding passes and computer use. The buffet is just OK, but the burger place inside the hotel had fresh delicious burgers with the best coleslaw I've ever had!! There is also a McDonalds, Panda Express and pizza place right next door. Denny's is just a few steps away as well. Timeshare sellers offering free breakfast and shows were annoying so just say no if not interested.
