“Great Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2012

My husband and I stayed at Harrah's in November 2011. It was our first trip to Vegas and we didn't know where to stay. I chose Harrah's based on reviews on this and other sites. We didn't eat there nor actually gamble there but the location was great and the room entirely adequate. We love walking to see the sights when we are vacationing and Harrah's central location on the strip certainly allowed that. Would we stay there again? Maybe, we had no complaints but we might just want to try another location.

Had read some bad reports on this hotel, so was rather apprehensive about our visit. However, everything was very good, We stayed for 8 nights.. Our room on the 26th floor in the Carnaval tower, was very clean and kept perfectly clean throughout our stay. The staff were all very, very helpful and attentive. Agree that the hotel is old and maybe the decor is old fashioned, but it was very relaxing.
The buffet was excellent and would certainly return to this hotel again.

Stayed here three nights for a convention and this place needs a total facelift and does not even begin to compete with the other strip hotels, expecially the theme hotels. Casino area very dark and smokey with terrible penny slot payouts, not even enough to want to continue throwing in more money. Very noisy, beep, beep, beep, sounds starting at 4 AM from delivery trucks in the area backing up. Even on the 24 th floor, it was like an hours long alarm clock.
Rooms were clean but nothing special. Layout confusing with the main enterance in the back down some side alleys, and a dark and dismal front???? entrance. No nice stores and restaurants nothing special. Large lines in the AM for SBs water falvored coffee. Lines for breakfast with half the tables empty.
Way to expensive for what it offers. Have a real experience and stay in a newer theme hotel.
They should tear it down and build a new one. These old Vegas hotels are dinosaurs.

Room Tip: To choose the best room... stay in another hotel!

What a pleasant surprise! Thought Harrahs would be tired and old but the room was quite the opposite. Clean and comfortable is what we found. Casino was OK - a little too smokey and dark for me.

I had read other reviews, but take each with a grain of salt as many are looking for everything for nothing. This hotel is worth much mire than its current rates and is a great bargain. My single room was clean, light and airy. It was well cleaned each day and always stocked with toiletries.
Location is smack in the middle of the strip so it's easy to go any way when walking.Make sure you get a Rewards card before check in. That trick facilitates an early check in and long waiting lines at the 4pm official check in. The Rewards card is the total ticket around Vegas. It's easy to purchase in any hotel before check in.
Lots of people and lines, but thats Vegas, so get over it!. Just plan on waiting for most everything
Only down side is a noisy fan and A/C but I always travel with a sound machine and never have a problem. If you're a light sleeper , this could be a dealbreaker.
If you want a good, inexpensive room in a great location, this is your place.

We went to Las Vegas for Superbowl Sunday, and stayed 3 nights at Harrahs on the strip, the price was good 218.00 dollars for the stay. The hotel itself is very nice, its in a great location, the buffet is excellent, we didnt win any money though. The only drawback is if you want to watch the Superbowl, be prepared to spend about a 100.00$ each to get a seat somewhere, even at Toby Keith,s bar which is part of Harrah,s, i would have thought they would give hotel guests a break on the price. Next year we are staying down on Fremont street for superbowl weekend, just a note, take the bus instead of a cab, only 7.00$ for a 24 hour pass, very easy and quite fun. See ya in Vegas, Bob.

Room Tip: choose a room with a view of the strip, less walking to get to your room.

I stayed here for a conference at the Sands Expo in February, 2012. The conference center is only a short walk, especially if you take the shortcut through the parking garage. The room was nice, seemed recently remodeled. I heard just a little noise from the street, but the white noise from the A/C fan tuned that out quickly. No complaints about room service. Didn't really use the hotel amenities since I was there for business.
