I've been to Las Vegas a number of times, most recently to The Bellagio. I went to the Encore for a conference, but was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself.

The room (which I think was a standard room) was like a mini-suite, with a half-wall separating the living area from the sleeping area. We had a nice view of downtown (although I understand the side facing the pool/bar can be noisy, this was perfectly fine).

The casino was very accessible and I'm sure it was large, but it didn't seem that way. There are lots of little bars and restaurants, which broke up the casino noise and made it easy to have a drink and feel you were in a small bar somewhere--a variety of decor and seating arrangements.

My only complaint was that it took forever to get a taxi on Saturday night to get to a show down on the Strip. The loading was extremely inefficient, and being August, it was hot as it could be. It took us about 30 minutes to catch a cab. Normally, I would have just walked, but since it was about 100 degrees, that wasn't a great option.

I'm not a big pool person, but we walked around the Encore pool area (the adults-only side), and I was pretty impressed. Not a quiet beach, more of a party atmosphere, but lots of cabanas (and lots of people standing in the water!)

The staff was very helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for the downtown side

Well finally stayed at the Wynn Encore (Old Desert Inn) for people who know Las Vegas.
It was a great view - Great Room - Great Service Great Food and CASINO.
BUT very poor for those seniors out there who like a strip view but don't like to listen to loud night club music all night. Yes it was very loud, we where on the 62 floor and about 2:30am we started to hear the boom boom boom...not a nice sound when trying to sleep. So for the younger crowd out there congratulations this hotel was built for you especially.
I would prefer to stay at Caesars where they have a night club as well but you can't hear it at 2am.
otherwise a great place.

What a great hotel! The floor to ceiling windows offer great views and remote control open & close, nice! The basic room is huge and so are the beautiful bathrooms. The big contemporary sectional and leather foot stool is a great bonus, great place to relax after a busy day. A must do (which I normally wouldn't do in a hotel), is to fill up that big comfortable tub and enjoy the lovely smell of their signature lemongrass citrus shower gal and soap! Don't forget to turn on the TV to a easy listening station as you soak! Yes, there is a TV in the bath, nice touch.needless to say there are shops, shows and fun places to eat and drink throughout the hotel. The decor is soft and pretty, after all, the Encore was designed for his wife.

Room Tip: I believe all the rooms have great views, I would avoid any above the open bars if your not a late night person.

I was in Vegas last year and had a great time staying at the Encore at the Wynn. Overall we chose very wisely, this hotel is the one to stay at if you are young, want to party, but also enjoy to stay in a nice place.

The rooms - lovely rooms with lots of space and not expensive. You spend your money elsewhere!

This hotel definitely has the best clubs in Vegas (second best is Cosmopolitan) and our Saturday night at XS was definitely our favourite on this trip.

Restaurants - Misuzmi was fantastic Japanese, not cheap, but worth it. Lots of options for breakfast also.

Location - across the road from Fashion Mall, walking distance to most hotels (although the taxi fare isn't expensive, so that wasn't an issue either).

The pool - great to relax and a wonderful cure for a hangover. The service was probably a bit slow by the pool on weekends, but apart from that it was a great experience overall.

Would stay here again.

We stayed for several nights and will be back! The king suite overlooking the strip was huge and well appointed. The bath was large as well. Very comfortable beds - we could have stayed sleeping in the bed for hours but had to get up!
