Came to this casino mostly because it was the best deal we could find. Stayed in a suite in the pyramid, the room was nice but we literally had to walk around the whole building to get back to our room due to only one inclinator stop on each floor. Keep in mind this casino is all the way at the end of the strip, close to the airport but not much else. We would probably try another casino when we take another trip there.

First time staying at the Luxor is also my last time.

Entering the casino and resort was promising. Impressing Egyptian motif, friendly valet and quick check-in put me in a good mood.

A short walk to Elevator 2 gave me a hint that the resort would be a bit outdated.

The lobby for the elevator looked a bit run down. The elevator itself was dinged up. When the doors slid closed and started ascending, instead of going up it was going left and right! Talk about Charlie and the Glass Elevators.

A long walk through a hallway that provided a spectacular view of the scene below led me to a room that was dark and cramped.

What made the room seem especially cramped was the slanted windows, necessary because of the pyramid theme.

Worse yet, my room faced a direction that had the sun blazing in regardless of the time of day. Thus I had to keep the heavy blinds closed all the time.

The AC/heater unit was old-school radiator style that had to be turned on or off manually, and rattled like crazy.

Everything looked a bit run down. Stucco white ceilings. There was a Samsung flat screen TV at least.

The area to set up your laptop and do work was a bit odd, attached to the dresser that the TV was also on. No dedicated chair so you had to move one of the ones by the small table.

The entire feel of the room was just kind of cramped.

Bathroom had a dedicated exhaust fan which automatically came on with the lights, which was appreciated. Good water pressure and hot water.

Toilets had a push button at the top that would sometimes require 2 flushes.

Walls were relatively thin. Next morning I could hear someone puking in their bathroom after a fun night of festivities.

The deli by the Elevator 2 was decent, if pricey.

All in all, for those not particularly picky, or for families this would be a fun place with a lot of exhibits.

For businessmen like me who are jaded, not so much ;)

At least I can now say I stayed at the Luxor, but it will be my first and last time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that's not facing the sun (Mandalay Bay), or ask for the newer tower.

Thank goodness we were only in Vegas for the night. I was looking forward to staying at the Luxor, as I had never stayed in that hotel in the past. Boy was I disappointed. The lobby area was somewhat appealing and it went down from there.

The elevator lobby was dingy, dirty, and a bit scary! Then you had to get on the elevator that sounded like the cables were going to break any moment, because the entire elevator shook the whole way up to the 9th floor.

Our room was dark, dirty, and needed a lot of TLC. The bathroom had mold all around the edge of the shower. And the baseboards in the bathroom appeared to have NEVER been wiped down.

The casino tables were worn, had splits in the railing leather, and were quite dirty.

Nothing about this hotel would make me recommend it to anyone.

Spent my bday weekend here at Luxor with the entire family from out of town. We were very pleased and happy with the great service Luxor provided for us. Room was clean upon arrival. Bell hop and valet attendants are very quick and professional. We will definitely be back :)

I stayed at the Luxor as I had a meeting at Mandalay Bay (sold out). The rooms at the Luxor are very dark and in desperate need of rehab. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, but everything else felt dated and worn out. The casino was not very busy and certainly not a lively crowd. For $75/night (all taxes included) during the week, it is not a bad deal, but there are definitely better places to stay in Las Vegas.
If you are not familiar with Las Vegas, you should also note that the Luxor is at the very end of the strip and gives you decent access to Mandalay Bay, Excalibur and NY NY, but everything else is at least a cab ride away.

Room Tip: Pyramid rooms are enormous. If you are going with multiple people there is plenty of room for a rollaway along with the two queen beds.
