“Very happy with it”

We stayed in the west tower which I would advise if you are sensitive to smoke. Loved the quiet atmosphere away from the main casino. Service was very good also. Our room had trouble with the A/C and a repairman came up right away. They gave us the option of moving. We declined at first because we liked our room so much. They were unable to fix it so we did end up changing rooms, and they were very prompt and helpful with that. Really nice bathrooms. The in-room safe was great! Don't know if all rooms have them but they were a nice thing to have and gave us peace of mind. As others have mentioned, the timeshare salespeople are very annoying and actually made us avoid the gaming floor more. The breakfast buffet was good but the dinner one was just so-so. We would stay here again.

the hotel is at the far end of the strip but is by no means away from it and has a bus stop close by to take you further up if you dont wish to walk. the rooms are big and the beds extremely comfy. no wireless internet in the rooms, they ecplained this is due to the pyramid shape making it difficult to install but a wire is available for laptops. we had a great stay

This was our first visit to Las Vegas and the Luxor wouldn't have been our first choice, but we were in Vegas for a wedding and that's where everyone else was staying. The room was fairly trashed and the hotel is obviously more of an economy level casino. The closet was all scratched up, the ironing board was a mess, there was a hole in the wall next to the shower, and it was impossible to get the temperature of the room comfortable. However, it was a clean-ish place to sleep, which we didn't do much of during our trip anyhow. I will say that I was impressed that, even with the casino and bars outside our room and six floors below, I couldn't hear any of it with the door to our room closed. With all of that said, it was a pretty decent stay with a variety of things to do (casino games, restaurants, hotels, shows, and a nightclub). I probably wouldn't stay here if visiting Vegas again, but I also wouldn't say it was necessarily a bad experience.

The Luxor was my welcome mat into Vegas. From the moment we walked in our Vegas experience was tarnished. Apathetic staff with their hands out, terrible room, zero service. As soon as my partner and I declined politely the offer to go to a time share seminar within 30 seconds of walking in, it was as if we were blacklisted for service and attention. I even tried asking one of the girls at the desk for advice on what to do in Vegas, she replied "I don't go out on the strip so I wouldn't know", then looked over my shoulder and called up the next in line. Way too much competition on the strip to put up with this place. The end.

Room Tip: try the room in any other hotel

Although we have stayed in many hotels in Las Vegas previously we has never stayed here before, and to be honest, wouldn't intend to stay here again. We didn't realise it before we arrived, but this is the second biggest hotel in Las Vegas, a fact that was soon proven by the amount of walking we had to do, from the very first minute the taxi dropped us off, worn out from bring up for twenty three hours. It's a considerable walk to registration from the taxi drip off point, made more confusing by poor signage, a problem throughout this hotel.

Reception staff were very friendly and agreed immediately to our request to relocated to one of the towers (having read here on trip advisor that the pyramid rooms tend to smell of smoke). We were put on the 9th floor (room 9358) in the east tower which was fine (again a long winding walk from registration though). The room was big as usual in the USA with a king size bed, but a bit dark and miserable, guess it's the Egyptian theme. The bathroom was nice with both a bath and separate large shower. There was no cable for the supposed free wired Internet. After the first night, a nice member of staff recommended that we go tithe Backstage Deli, the only place with wi-fi in the hotel instead which was great (have reviewed elsewhere on this site).

There was an ice machine near the lifts and a drinks vending machine.

We had a bite to eat in the food court on a couple of occasions, not very fast food, but nice once we got it, there is McDonalds, a pizza place, a chicken place, a sandwich place, amongst others.

There is also an American pub, a Mexican, a steakhouse and a couple of other restaurants that we didn't get time to try. We did go to a show, Fantasy which was pretty good. There are also paid exhibitions about the Titanic and one called Bodies.

Staff generally at the Luxor were very friendly. It's too far from the rest of the Strip for us though, with quite a walk to MGM to pick up the Monorail. It was also very smoky and both my husband and I suffered allergic reactions to whatever it is they pump around to make it smell less smoky, and we weren't the only ones !

Made a change, but in our opinion so many better places to stay !

Room Tip: Avoid the pyramid rooms - they will upgrade you to the towers at no extra cost.

I didn't win while I was there, but the hotel was not bad at all. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was good to. Some people like being more in the middle of the strip when they stay. I like to bounce around and go to different hotels on the strip everytime I go to Vegas. So far I like more of the Luxor new York new York area. I would like to try other hotels down by the Wynn, but if friends were goin to the Luxor, I would have no problem going again.
