Our dining group of 5 senior citizens hit on another wonderful restaurant when we ate at "Off the Strip" on Southern Highlanfs. Not only was the food excellent and the prices very resonable but they made us feel very welcome and that they appreciated our visit. It is in a bar but there was no smoke and the TV was on a moderate volume so it didn't interfere with our conversation. Service was friendly, gave good suggestions, helpful but not intrusive. We look forward to many return visits. Portion sizes are large so be prepared to share or to take home. I loved the eggplant parmigiana. Next time I will try their garbage salad and some of the many intriguing appetizers. As I said it is a "real find" and easy driving distance from Anthem in Henderson.

This was a girlfriend visit, four ladies "of an age" who love to dine out together.

Everyone had something different, and everyone was pleased. Food was wonderfully sauced and seasoned, and there was so much that finishing it all wasn't an option.

The dishes the other ladies had were all entrees, served with your choice of a Caesar Salad or House Salad and also came with spaghetti. One lady had orange roughy, one had spaghetti squash mixed with regular spaghetti, and one had eggplant parmigiana, which was huge (and tasty, of course). There was an order of garlic bread, which was crunchy french bread with garlic, cheese, and a slice of roma tomato on it. There were six pieces, enough for sharing.

I had two appetizers. The first was New York Steak, cut thin, with provolone cheese, wrapped around an asparagus spear, wrapped with bacon and cooked. These came two to an order, and were served with the most heavenly sauce. I kept raving about them, and almost licked the plate, it was so good. The second item was shrimp wrapped in bacon, cooked in a Thai sweet chili sauce (which has a kick at the end). It was also tasty, a very interesting combination of flavors.

At the end of the meal we were given a piece of cheesecake with four forks (it was large enough for each of us to have several bites). The cheesecake was surrounded by strawberries, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. Mmmm!

Service was very good, the waiter kept checking that we were doing OK, and our water glasses were kept full.

The restaurant is attached to a bar, but contrary to the review below, there is NO SMOKING. Expect a neighborhood, laid back vibe. Very comfortable for a group of ladies. There were families, friend groups and dates all there, enjoying the food.

Will we go back again? Yes. There are so many more things on the menu to try.

We have eaten at this restaurant once about a year ago and thought the food was good, although the prices a bit on the high side. Now we are starting to spend more time near their southern highlands location and decided to try them again. Apparently they have changed, and they are now allowing smoking in their establishment, all we can say is yuck. Not the type of place we would spend the extra money to frequent. The nearby tapas bar, or sushi bar and their non smoking environments are much preferred.

FACT: SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED IN OUR DINING AREAS.

Cliri, some facts: Not only have we not had any incident of anyone smoking in our restaurant, but we have no report of anyone complaining about any such incident if it had happened.

We have gone to great lengths to provide a separate smoking Cigar/Karyoke lounge for smokers (whom are people too that we care about) isolated from the dining room, far on the other side of the bar, with it's own separate ventilation system.

What you are describing is not only not ok with us and we would have immediately stopped it, but it is also against the law. Again: SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED IN OUR DINING AREAS.

We really do not understand why people will not simply speak directly with us if they see a violation and feel better to write hyperbolic, unfair, and emotionally reactive reviews like these.

We are all about customer satisfaction and that is why we have the ratings we have. But not everyone believes in communication the way we do. Please enjoy the tapas and sushi bar and best of luck to you.

The amazing greeting we received from the owner the minute we entered the restaurant with a party of 8 got seated right away. From the appetizers to the dessert wow! The steak is so tender and delicious. The owner continued to check on our table made excellent recommendations to us and to top it all off gave us cheese cake to try. None of us planned on dessert however when someone gives you a free dessert its usually not amazing. This cheese cake was for sure one of the best I have had. I would recommend this place to anyone that goes to Vegas! We will be back again and again!

We went on a Friday night. It's a huge locals spot. Good sign number one: locals love it.

It was busy, but you weren't sardines in a can. Everyone seemed to be in great spirits and there was a more relaxing feel than you find in Vegas. Our waitress, Jenny, was great. Everyone who worked there was helpful and convivial. Great atmosphere.

Jenny was a vivacious and charming dame. She had a great sense of humor and we wanted for nothing. She was proud of their selections and gave us the scoop on everything we had to try. She basically listed the entire menu.

It was my husband's and coworker's first Vegas trip so she threw in a piece of the BEST DAMN CHEESECAKE EVER FOR FREE!!! When does that happen? Just to be nice?

The menu has a lot of Italian dishes and you won't be disappointed!

Chicken Saltimbocca: delicious!!!!! Chicken wrapped in prosciutto topping sautéed spinach and potatoes., covered in a wine and mushroom sauce. I couldn't put down the fork!

My husband had a pasta dish with their homemade vodka sauce. Loved it!

My coworker ordered the bacon-wrapped sweet and spicy prawns for an appetizer which we all went nuts over. Then she had shrimp scampi which she couldn't resist.

None of us could finish our food: there was just too much. And we tried!

Then they gave us some of the best damn cheesecake this planet has to offer. We thought we'd need to be wheeled out. We couldn't finish the cheesecake, either.

Tom, the owner, came over and wanted to see how we were enjoying our food. I told him, "I'm going to get diabetes from all this great food!" He said, "we're all going to get it someday."

He was equally charming as our waitress and checking in with his patrons as though they were guest in his home.

It is a short drive. If you have a rental car, it's nothing. If you are only doing cabs this trip to Vegas, you might miss out on this oasis.

Rent a car: it's cheaper that 3 taxi-rides around town. And then you can get to this gem.

We had high expecatations. I had seen the 4.5 star ratings. But I my expectations were surpassed. I can not wait to come back.

I couldn't have enjoyed it more. Well done to Tom and his staff. Hats off to those chefs!
