We loved this museum. There were loads of incredible exhibits but also plenty of hands on things for our children. We spent hours wandering around and had a great time. It was a wonderful family adventure.

The taxidermy is extensive and arranged in a spectacular setting. Did not care much for the King Tut exhibit as it was a reproduction and I have seen the real thing - however, it was nicely recreated. Big T-Rex, kids science area, This is a must see and if you have children there is a kids museum down the block (did not go just mentioning it). This exhibit is by far the best taxidermy collection I have ever seen.

This museum is a little old and tired, but perfect for little ones. My two-year-old loved the dinosaurs, the fish tanks, and the dioramas, and we spent a pleasant couple of hours. The staff was very friendly and enthusiastic!

Most people don't come to Las Vegas to check out the natural history museum...but I did!

What a great little "nugget" tucked away in the heart of town...this museum is a treasure trove of fun, exciting, and unusual exhibits, great gift shop, and a romp through natural history complete with roaring dinosaurs, a bug exhibit, live sharks and rays, killer whale teeth, mummified dinosaurs, and a crocodile the size of a small boat!

One of my favorites is the Egyptian exhibit...this is the one that used to be in the Luxor, but is now on permanent display at this museum. It is a replica of King Tutankhamen's tomb with a glimpse into the burial chamber as Howard Carter would have seen it, gold statues, artifacts, videos, a replica of an Egyptian village and marketplace, and a place to build a pyramid of your own.

Another spectacular and unique exhibit is "Leonardo" a mummified dinosaur that is a very important paleontological find. There are X-rays, paintings, information and bones...its a really a cool exhibit.

Also the museum has an African exhibit, a hall of ancient human origins, and an exhibit that shows the native plants, animals and birds of Nevada and the Southwest.

Get away from the glitz and glamor of Las Vegas and treat your brain to a wonderful experience at this museum, you'll be glad you did !!! Visit the gift shop and take home a unique piece of natural history, a fun stuffed animal, a DVD or book about Leonardo, or some great books for the kids.

This is, indeed, one of Las Vegas's great attractions! Don't miss this one, whether you are with your family or by yourself, you will want to spend some time here.

Remember...Las Vegas isn't just about casinos, all night restaurants, drinking, and the chaos...it can also be about learning about natural history and the state of Nevada...and that is a COOL experience!

Interesting and little known museum in the heart of Las Vegas. A little dated and stale, but still fun if you're looking for a different pace. Great for kids.
