“Breathtaking escale from Vegas, not far from Vegas”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

For only $7 a car with its passengers included, the Red Rock was worth each of the 700 pennies paid. With comparisons to many other conservation areas that we've visited in eastern canada and the usa, the admission price was very well set.

What is included in the price is a scenery essentially capturing the essence of the beautiful desert. Whether it be the 13 mile drive with lookout parking along the way or the many hiking trails, you are taken along the incredible red rocks, down into the canyon by foot, and along the mountain and valleysides. We spent most of our time on the driving tour and the scenery never got boring. The colours of the geology around us, and the very rugged terrain changing every bit of the way kept us all in admiration and awe.

You dont need to drive far from Vegas to see Nevada's spectacular natural features, Red Rock is merely a half hour from the Strip.

“The Alternative to Las Vegas”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

Want a break from the hustle, bustle and bright lights of Vegas? You don't have far to go. Red Rock Canyon is a short drive away and, although there can be quite a lot of people there, you can find peace, quiet and a lot of history.

Shortly after the entrance is the visitor centre which is modern, relatively large, interesting and has helpful and friendly staff. From there you can drive round the area using the provided map to help you understand what is there and stop off to go walking in the hills.

Not a whole day excursion unless you want to do a lot of walking (take water!) but a very pleasant and informative afternoon change.

“Appropriate for the whole family!”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

We did the driving tour, and stopped a few times to do a little walking and enjoy the sights. We had a young child, so it was perfect to be able to drive and enjoy the view, and then take a little stroll. The sights were beautiful, the climbing wasn't too much. I wore sandals on accident, but it didn't turn out so bad - I was still able to walk comfortably. Very clean, gorgeous, and a full immersion in nature. You'll find a variety of different families here - from tourists, to locals, to singles with pets, to families with young children and infants. Highly recommend for a breathtaking, relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

“Viva Red Rock Canyon”
Reviewed August 11, 2014 via mobile

Whether you are just enjoying the scenic loop drive or being more adventurous and going hiking, Red Rock Canyon is simply beautiful. There are a number of hikes ranging from simple to where's the oxygen mask? Red Rock is probably about 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and yet when you are there, you feel a lot further away. Take a hike up the Calico Hills and the view is stunning from the top. You can see the Strip in the distance. Actually, you are looking down on it. With a speed restriction on the drive, which is one way, it's all relaxing. So, if you're in Vegas and have a car, take a break from the gambling and shopping and head West to Red Rock Canyon. You will not be disappointed.
