After reading on tripAdvisor how fabulous this place was, my friend and I was exited to visit this place. We was here during daytime on a weekday, and we were very disappointed. A lot of homeless people and drunk people walking around. And every shop was tourist shops with a lot of useless souvenirs to buy. The casinos was old and run down. The only cool thing was the old buildings with nostalgic figurines on. It may be better to visit when its dark to see all the lights they have put up. If you want to visit this place take the deuce bus from the strip and down to Freemont street experience (4th street) for a two hour bus ticket it is $6 pr person.

Don't miss a trip to Fremont Street. We went the last night in Vegas and decided next time we're booking our hotel there. A lot more of a party atmosphere, we saw a great show on the street, wandered in and out of the casinos a lot more freely and just had a blast!

The zipline is the greatest time on Fremont Street. There are great classic hotels and casinos that give you that old-time Vegas feel, but the Zipline was the greatest attraction here. It is a strip long line of pure fun! Does't cost a lot of money and you can buy a day pass!

Absolutely worth it!

Although the downtown section is becoming a little "seedy", it's still home to the Fremon Street Experience, a don't miss attraction that is unlike anything else in Vegas - plus it's free! Don't go too late, though, because it doesn't go on through the night. I think 11:00 p.m. is the last show. Everything kind of shuts down when the lights go on, and the music and "dancing" lights overhead are a unique experience for the "first timer". Even us "old timers" still enjoy the sights and sounds. You can take the shuttled buses from the Strip, and it won't cost you a fortune to do so. They drop you off about a block away. Quick tip: go quickly toward the bus stop after the lights/music stop, or stay awhile and browse or gamble. Either way, you should miss the crowds heading to the bus stop, and you might just get lucky in one of the casinos. Supposedly, the slots are "looser" than the Strip, simply to attract more people to the downtown area.

Was very suprised. Was not expecting it to be so clean as the bus ride down made me a little iffy. Light show at night was great. Food is very good and very affordable. Heart Attack Grill is awesome but bring a big appetite as the burgers are enormous. Live attractions were going on on three different stages. Vey nice night in old Las Vegas
