What can I say? it's over the top! Vegas these days is two very different places. The strip is glitzy and glamorous and downtown is raukus and raunchy. Both have a certain appeal but I would personaly advise everyone to stay on the strip, but be sure to visit downtown for a day or at the very least one night after dark to see the Fremont street experience show. 1 full day downtown will be more than enough for most folks.

Food and drink are dirt cheap here compaired to the strip and as a result you will encounter shall we say a less formal crowd, along with many impersonators, and numerous outright freeeeaks! espessially after dark. Its completely safe, but gets lots of complaints from parents draging young children along with them.

Las Vegas tried the "family friendly" approach in the 1990's which was a financial disaster that nearly sunk the whole town so it's back to Sin City now but some folks obviously still haven't got the message. This should be on the "must see" list when visiting Vegas - Enjoy!

We were amazed at the parking facilities! If you park in the garage at the Fremont Street Experience, it opens right onto the street in all the action. We had so much fun! There were great photo ops with many costumed characters such as KISS, Spiderman, Showgirls etc... The overhead light show was wonderful and the stage concerts were great. One caution... there is NOWHERE to sit down. Great adventure for whole family and totally FREE!

I wasn't sure what to expect but it was pretty cool. Didn't stay too long but did enjoy walking through and seeing everything. Going again this July and definitely going to visit again. Many impersonators.

After 4 crowded, uncomfortable nights on the Strip, we finally found Fremont Street. The vintage signs, hotels and casinos were so cool. It was nice to be able to walk around, and not get "pushed around" the street. We were able to stroll under the lighted canopy, enjoy cocktails on an outside patio watching a free band, visit the Golden Nugget, Binions...and just relax together. There were several celebrity impersonators (Jack Nicholson, Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton), a saxophone player, inexpensive places to eat and drink. We will never go back to the strip.

It's such a freaky neighborhood. So packed with people and not the good kind. Not a good place for kids at all.
