My husband and I stayed here mid September 2011 and we LOVED it! We brought our 8 month old to Vegas with us so I did lots of research on family friendly hotels. I was surprised when Trump International came up on the list of "Most Family Friendly Hotels". When we checked in we were automatically upgraded to a strip view (we originally booked a studio suite with a city view). I asked how much it would be to upgrade to a 1 bedroom and they said $50 a night. A little more than we wanted to spend but we decided to take the upgrade anyway...and I sure am glad we did! The room was HUGE! The bathroom was as big as my bedroom at home! Everything was just so clean and immaculate. It was so nice having a kitchen available to warm up our baby's food and make his bottles. Also, we requested to have a crib in the room and it came up not even 10 minutes after we checked in. I was surprised by how nice the crib was and it even came with linens and a crib bumper. All this at NO charge! When I called other hotels like the Mirage and MGM, both said they charged $20 A NIGHT for crib use. At Trump, its free!
As far as the location of the hotel, I read LOTS of reviews saying "it's way to far off the strip, too long of a walk, etc." People must be out of shape because it's a 5 minute walk. Plus, if you don't want to walk in the heat then you can just cut right through the Fashion Show Mall (the entrance to Nordstrom is literally right across the street). We found the location no problem at all. Actually, it was kind of nice to be a little set back where it's not so crazy. We also thoroughly enjoyed the fact that this was a non-gaming hotel. It was SO nice to come back after a long day of walking around the strip and all the smokey hotels to a clean, fresh, hotel! It was great!
The only (and I do mean ONLY) downfall was the pool area. It was very small and a little boring. But I also understand the fact that Trump is a different kind of hotel than say Mirage or MGM. It was a little awkward being the only family with a baby in the pool...we almost felt a little out of place for having a splashing baby. But our son still had fun and that's really all that mattered.
We would DEFINITELY come back to Trump the next time we are in Vegas. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is SO welcoming and friendly! We loved that we were greeted by a smiling face at the entrance every time we came back. Good job Trump!
