Las Vegas Boulevard is famous for being one of the most visually spectacular venues on the planet. Where else can you combine an eye-popping array of light, sound, and video with amazing architecture yet remain a great place to people watch? Finding a venue to people watch, rest, and eat can be tricky as the crowds often mandate that one must take a break inside one of the spacious eateries and casinos that line the strip. This provides people with plenty of dining and libation options but at a cost of minimizing the spectacular visuals of the strip.
Thankfully there is a great solution to this problem at The Fat Bar which offers casual dining and drinks in a great outdoor venue. The locale is a comfortable patio section of the Fatburger, but offers a full service bar and expanded menu options not found in the restaurant. Best of all, the outdoor seating offers an amazing view of the strip and the passersby. During our visit, it was very cold so we were very appreciative of theoutdoor heating columns which helped displace the evening chill.
We opted to try a few items from the expanded section of the menu. The chicken wings which were spicy and amazing. For dinner, there were choices of hamburger, turkey, and chicken burgers all with choices of toppings which included options ranging from bacon to an egg. Onion rings and skinny fries accompanied the dinner selections well but for those wanting more traditional fries, they are more than happy to oblige. I enjoyed my chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese which was the perfect complement to the wings. My wife and our guests enjoyed their selections as well which went from loaded chili fries to a turkey burger made with a fried egg on top.
While we did not partake in any alcohol on this visit, the vast array of drink options were very impressive. While we ate, we were treated to some great people watching ranging from an array of Nintendo characters to some scantily and bizarrely dressed individuals who rushed to and from their destinations. Our service was great and the venue capped off our night with one of their spectacular shakes. Despite the frigid weather the thought of an ice cream shake with their great flavor options was too much to pass up.
We really enjoyed our time at The Fat Bar and look forward to a return visit, especially when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy more of the great, food, service, and views offered by this highly
