Absolutely loved this place. I eat steak everyday and the Pine Lodge brought me the best steak of my life. Huge, tasty. I asked where it came from because I knew it could not be Sysco. They said it is from a ranch up in Idaho. The décor is quirky and perfectly suited for the experience. Lamoille may be 30 minutes form the I-80 exit in Elko, NV but WELL worth the trip.

A group of 4 visited the restaurant for dinner on a weekday. Nice place and nice drive from Elko. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers', but dinner was a different story. The waitress was one of the owners. Dinner took a long time, and the waitress stated that she had a new cook, and he did not prepare the steaks correctly. My dinner steak(filet) was prepared correctly and had good flavor. Two others got the special rib eye steak. Neither one was prepared correctly, and were not eaten. The waitress again stated that the cook was new, but did not offer to discount the bill. We were disappointed that we paid a lot on money and were not satisfied with the meal. would not go back again....

We stumbled upon this place by accident online after trying to find a nice sit down restaurant still open on a Sunday while passing through Elko. I have driven that freeway many times, but never knew of the hidden in plain site Ruby Mountains beyond Elko, in front of which is nestled little Lamoille! The restaurant was part great food and service, and part museum of natural history! They have an amazing nature display of preserved local wildlife that you can enjoy behind glass windows from your table, beautiful wildlife photography and comfortable western decor. The food was pretty good, I had ribs that were nice and moist and my husband had a to-die-for cheese stuffed burger. The waitstaff could not have been nicer or more attentive. There is a small guest house next door (different owners) and plenty of trails and canyons to explore in the scenic mountains just behind. Be careful though, Apple maps had this restaurant located in Elko, which is obviously not correct. It is easy to find- take the Lamoille highway south, out of town, and follow signs to Lamoille. 20 mins of a lovely country drive. Definitely worth it if you like off-the-beaten-path charm.

The atmosphere and service at the Pine Lodge was excellent. And for the most part so was the food. We had ribs, halibut and filet mignon with crab. The only dissapointing thing was the crab. Part of it was cold and had no flavor. I wold definitely go there again and reccomend it to others.

Decor based on shulder and full mount animals; booths are next to dioramas (it's like having dinner in a museum!).
