Came to Lake Tahoe on a ski trip with 13 college buddies. We went to MontBleu Casino on a Saturday night based on several recommendations from the locals. It was a nice casino, but most of the people there gambling, drinking, etc. where very rude and there were a lot of trashy people there. Several of my friends were bumped into and it seemed like people were looking for confrontations. There are to clubs there at MontBleu and the casino atmosphere seemed good. They did have $2 Coronas and that saved the night. Went to Harrah's on the trip as well and thought they had a much better time.

This is a nice hotel overall. The casino is a lot of fun and the service is what you would want. The atmosphere is exciting and it's hard to beat the $.99 margaritas and tacos at happy hour Saturday nights. Do the rooms need to be updated? Yes. They still have the Caesars theming and it is getting worn. But the rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. The view from our room was very nice as well. While this hotel may not be as nice as some of its neighbors, it is a much better value and you get more for what you pay. We plan on staying here again.

South shore Tahoe has gone downhill in the last decade, and most of the hotel/casinos are a shell of what they once were. MontBleu was O.K. as a casino, the 'We pay you half of what you lose' using our tracking card was a nice feature. The room was clean, not much of a view (except for Harrah's hotel) and the weird shower was a hold over from Ceasar's days. The pool was different (being indoor), but the chlorine smell was over whelming. I'd have to say there was nothing really special about MontBleu, but nothing bad either. The Buffet (which I think was the name of their buffet) was good, but not quite as big as the buffets of what I remember (like the old High Sierra buffet).

Not a big gambler? No problem! Enjoyed the tasty 99 cent margaritas (which actually included tequila!) and the good-sized and flavorful $9.99 prime rib dinner! Clean and well laid out casino; not too crowded, loud or flashy. Found my favorite penny slot and won big! They also have some fun entertainment. Easy walk across the state line for some relaxed gaming and good food.

Not being much of a gambler, I 'm not sure how to evaluate this casino, but I wanted to mention it for anyone interested. At this casino in South Lake Tahoe Nevada side, of course, you are asked to be a card carrying member (no cost) to receive extra perks. You can get half of your money back a minimum of $20 up to $100 that you lost at the tables or machines. Now that seemed like a good deal and it was true, except you get your money back in the form of more credit to your card. Even if you traveled to Lake Tahoe frequently the card had to be used in 45 days. That may or may not be an incentive to some, but you can decide for yourself. The other perks of the membership included daily prize drawings for TVs and such and meal deals, drink deals, show deals, etc. I wanted to mention that we enjoyed the $9.99 Prime rib dinner and the 3 way shrimp dinner ($14.99) as well as the $3.99 breakfast (Coffee not included). PS. I quickly lost all of the initial money as well as the credited money very quickly!
