We just spent the afternoon at Sand Harbor, and "WOW" sums it up! This is part of the Nevada state park system with an entrance fee. Parking fills up early in the summer so be prepared. The beach itself is long, but not a lot of depth. The blue ultra-clear waters, with the boulders rising up, is breathtaking...and then add in the snow tops of the Sierra Nevada range. The beauty of this beach is on par with anything out of the keys or tropic areas I have visited. Snack bar, bathrooms and grill/bar are on the premises, Beware the water is Pacific cold here though.
