The Shakespheare Festival in the Sand Harbor State Park on the north shore of Lake Tahoe is held in July and August every year. It is both healthy and funny entertainment not to mention it has great food.

Most incredible view- went hiking on the rocks to the sand harbor beach a mile away- excellent hike but the trail stops after about a quarter do a mile and the rest is pretty much climbing the rocks- not for beginners! Crystal clear and aqua water is a must see- natural beauty at its finest!!!

Very clean beach with beautiful views of the lake and snow covered mountains beyond. Nice benches to sit on.

Sand Harbor is a beautiful park on Lake Tahoe's north shore and just about the only place you can get to the water, unless you live there, or want a long hike down rocky trails. As most of the other reviews have noted, it gets VERY crowded in the summer, and parking is the pits. Probably as a result of the crowds, they have fenced off much of the park, so only the sandy beach is easily accessible. The entrance fee has gone up from 7 to 12 dollars recently, which makes it spendy for short-time visitors. The views are great, but even in summer the water is barely above 65 degrees. Best time to go is mid-March to mid-May, or September-November.

There are not many dog -friendly beaches in Tahoe, and we were delighted to find Sand Harbor in Incline Village, NV. Dogs are permitted October 15-April 15. The beach itself is picturesque as well as very accessible.
We cannot give a review of summer, but in the cool months of the year, it is awesome! Our dog loved it!
There is a fee of $7 but we found it well worth the price.
