“Great place to relax and dip your toes”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

The water was warm enough to swim and some did. Beautiful rock formations and quiet water. Paddle board and kayak rentals and boat launch too. We will bring our inflatable next time and explore the rock formations and maybe fish.

“Best beach at Tahoe”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Though it costs like 8-12$ per carload, this is the best beach at Lake Tahoe. There are actually 3 beaches at Sand Harbor, and they all have their unique characteristics that appeal to different people. The southern most beach is the largest and sunniest. The shore is long, and the water is (mostly) free of rocks, so it's a great beach to swim. The middle beach is the smallest. There are lots of rocks around this beach for hiking and jumping into the lake, however the water is only waist deep about halfway out, so be careful. This beach fills up the quickest, so get there early to get a spot. The northern most beach is a little larger than the middle beach. There is a boat launch here, so this side is mostly full of kaykers and paddleboards, as well as regular boats. There are lots of rocks to swim around and jump off of, but with the prevalence of boats, it's probably not the best place to do that. There is also a covered veranda/bbq-ing area, but i think you have to reserve it in order to use it. There are also many freestanding bbq and picnic tables throughout Sand Harbor for use by the public, although you should claim one early to enjoy it later. Best Beach(es) at Tahoe though (in my opinon).

“My favorite place to Kayak”

My favorite place to Kayak on the lake- the views were breathtaking! We were able to rent our Kayak at Sand Harbor which made it very convenient to explore the Lake.

“Absolutely gorgeous!”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

My husband and I stayed in Incline Village and made the 5 minute scenic drive up the road to Sand Harbor. The cost was $12 for California residents and well worth every penny. There are several beaches for families to sit on and enjoy the amazing views of Lake Tahoe. This is truly one of the most beautiful and scenic areas of Lake Tahoe. My husband and I brought our SUP/kayak (they say no dogs but allowed us to take our dog out on our boards with us) and spent two separate days exploring this beautiful area.

The second day we headed South from Sand Harbor and what a treat! I can't tell you just how incredible the view is, how amazing the water is..you just have to go see for yourself!
