I just came here to eat and to check this beautiful casino out. This place beautiful! I will stay here in a few months. I ate a wonderful meal at the buffet and even won a little money. There is a waterfall at the oyster bar. This and the Green Valley Ranch were the biggest surprise off the strip. Very classy looking just look up at the ceilings with the the blue skys and clouds. Like I said I didn't stay here but I will be back.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and found it to be very clean and comfortable. The rooms are large and have comfortable beds, a flat screen TV and a small table and chairs. The bathroom is configured with the toilet and shower in one room and the sink and a long counter in the room with the bed (behind a wall). The shower head had some sort of oxygenator on it that made very little water feel like more (sort of). The room and the whole hotel was very clean. Our room was always cleaned by noon. There is plenty of parking (near multiple hotel entrance doors) and lots of shopping, restaurants, fast food, etc. nearby. If you don't want to stay on the strip this is a great alternative at a very reasonable price (too bad the resort fee adds $16+ per day). That being said, we would still definitely stay here again.

If you like quiet and someplace not to far from the strip this is a nice place to stay. I have been traveling to Henderson at least 2x a year to visit family and this is centrally located for my travel plans.

Room Tip: The buffet is very reasonable and the food was good. Great meal at Pasta Cucina and it was not price...

While visiting relatives living nearby, we spent a few hours in this casino. The location is very convenient to interstate and local roads, the parking lot has roomy slots with many different entrances to make them all easy to use. The restaurant food and service was great, very few were taking advantage of it while we were there, I suspect most were more interested in gambling...lol. I even found the gift shop very nice with reasonable prices.

We have stayed at Sunset Station 4 or 5 times now. It is about 20 minutes from the strip, and around 15 minutes from downtown in a nice part of Henderson. You will need a car to stay here. There is a large mall across the street from Sunset Station and a Super Walmart on the other side. We stay here because the pool is fantastic, the food is great, and the casino is large and clean. There is a free senior (50+) slot tournament every Wednesday.

There is no guard at the elevator anymore you use your key to operate the elevator. Another nice thing about Sunset Station is you can park on the side of the hotel and enter near the elevators. Your room key unlocks the outside door at night.

Our room was on the 7th floor and was clean. The bed was very comfortable which I was worried about as I have had 2 spine surgeries in the last 2 years. There is a nice flat screen TV in the room too. The rooms are not as fancy as the rooms on the strip but I myself don't need floor to ceiling marble in the bathroom.

There is a long counter in the bathroom area with one sink which is nice as you have someplace to put your toiletry items. I brought a small soft sided cooler and left it there instead of using the ice bucket. I never had a problem getting ice from the ice machine. One nice thing about the bathrooms here is that the shower/tub and toilet are in their own room so someone can use the sink while someone else uses the shower.

My biggest complaint about the room was the lack of an in room safe. There are safe deposit boxes at the front desk but you have to stand in line with guests checking in/out to get into it. The boxes aren't big enough for a laptop or even a tablet this forced us to leave our tablet in the trunk of the car at night if we were out and about and during the heat of the day we ended up putting it in a plastic bag and keeping it under our lounger at the pool. When I complained about the lack of an in-room safe I was told that "The suites have safes in them". This is all well and good except that Station Casino properties charge a $16 a night resort fee which covers everything that you used to get for free before. Mostly you are paying $16 a night for a newspaper in the morning. The resort fee just ticks me off MGM properties and Station casino properties charge it, and both were in finical trouble a couple of years ago.

The Feast buffet was fantastic the food was always hot and fresh. Use your players card to save a buck or two here. This same buffet would be 3 times as much on the strip.

The pool is very nice we have never had a problem getting a spot in the sun no matter what time of day we have come down to the pool. The lifeguards were friendly too.

The casino is large and doesn't smell like smoke. There is a lot of video poker and slots. We like the older 25 cent reel slots and those are hard to find here most of the stuff is video now. There is a bowling alley, movie theater, and kiddy daycare that we used many years ago.

All in all, even with the resort fee this is a very affordable place to stay and I'm sure we will be back hopefully sooner rather than later.

Room Tip: Sign up and use use your players card to save money on the buffet and to get room offers via email...

Stayed here over the pre-July 4 weekend for a wedding. The stay was pleasant enough. The property has many diversions (movie theater, bowling alley, proximity to decent shopping in area) for those that don't want to spend all their time gambling. Breakfast buffet had excellent selections and service was about a B+.

Major drawback was long walk from the only hotel elevators to the front desk, restaurants and other facilities. My 89 year old mother who joined us had to take a break everytime she tried to get from the elevators to the rest of the attractions. Overall, our stay was relatively stress-free at a property offering good value for anyone who doesn't need to stay on the Strip.

The main reason why we stay at Sunset Station is because it is located in Henderson about 5 minutes away from my folks. I love the junior suite...just the right size for my family of 5. The whole hotel is pretty clean. The rooms are clean. There are places to eat to satisfy every palate. The kids love Kids Quest and bowling. Parking is more than enough. I like the fact that Galleria Mall and the other shopping area by Marks is so close. Oh and Sweet Tomatoes is right up the street.
