Can't believe it's only 2 bucks for adults. Of course we went as we had seen it on Pawn Stars. Well worth the trip.
Awesome restored period houses.

Husband is a fan of the show "Pawn Stars" and one of his favorite characters who occasionally appears to answer questions on items brought into the shop is the head of the Clark County Museum. He always wears a red shirt and a flat, round hat. When we pulled into the parking lot of the museum, there he was, talking with some folks about an item they had brought in. The museum itself was quite interesting, Daughter and I especially enjoyed the old houses that had been brought in and staged in their particular time periods, ranging from the turn of the century up to the 1960's. Brought back memories of grandma's houses and childhood homes for Husband and I, fun to see the Christmas decorations each one had, also. And since this is, after all, Las Vegas, there's also an old wedding chapel. Was a little disappointed in the "ghost town", but still interesting, and Husband quite liked the old trains, since he's a fan. The Visitor's Center has a nice little gift shop, and the main display when we visited was about the older casino's that have been "imploded" over the years. That was especially interesting, but also sad - so many were truly fascinating and unusual in design, and all the memories of the great entertainers there. You can't beat the price - $1 for seniors and kids, $2 for adults. Might be a bit hot in the summer months to walk around outside there, but very comfortable in cooler months. All in all, a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

This is a rather large museum. The indoor portion is excellent with a lot of information. The outdoor portion consist of 3 areas: the street of houses (block), the train station and barn, and the Indian sites and wildlife trails. Each house relives a different era. This brought back many memories. There were so many things to see. It was well worth the visit.

On a recent visit to Las Vegas we decided to visit some off strip sites. Since we were all seniors it only cost us $1 each. From the parking lot it doesn't look like much. The indoor part was decent but walking around the outdoor was great, it just keeps going on and on. Lots of photo ops. Spent a couple hours here and the other couple we were with are not the museum type.

I spent an afternoon here with my niece and sister-in-law. We were silly, and enjoyed all the snooping around. But it was a hot day and we wilted pretty easily. I think they've done a wonderful job of capturing old Vegas and I loved "reliving" lit.
