The Lion Habitat is the Lions that were used in the MGM Casino Las Vegas. Since the MGM cancelled the contract to have the cats in the casino habitat, the owners have opened their facility to the public! it;s an up close view of the lions that in many ways are treated like loved family pets. The lions are kept in enclosures and are onlt a few feet from you ( behind fences of course). It is the closest I have ever been to lions, one actually roared at me!

They had at the time 7 cubs (4 months old) and it was really interesting to see them play and hand feed these little cats.

The staff was very imformative, friendly and provided a very nice experience. There were very few people there to see the lions so it is a very personal experience, not rushed or crowded.

If you have an interest in lions, it is a must stop while in Vegas.

We headed out to the ranch on a whim, but couldn't have been happier with our decision. $20/adult for a visit and you can stay as long as you like. You get within 5 feet of the lions in their cages. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and more than willing to spend their time answering any questions. It is amazing to see the lions interact with the staff.....they are so affectionate and come running at the sound of their voices. Listening to all the male lions roaring once they get going is a cool experience as well. We highly recommend visiting and we will probably make a return visit in the future.

These are the former MGM Grand Hotel lions and the facility opened to the public Dec 2012. The facility is immaculate and currently has 40 lions and 7 cubs. Offering cub interactions, trainer for a day, private tours, etc. Admission is $20/adult with one free child (interactions extra). The cubs were approx 13 weeks old during our cub interactions - they are adorable and bottle feeding a cub is rare opportunity. Great fun & a wealth of lion education for adults & children.
