I took my niece for lunch, it is so peaceful and we had a great lunch! Then we walked all around, we also window shopped in the very cool shops that are open. People need to start going here, it's a GEM in the desert.

Some cute restaurants and shops are at Lake Las Vegas, but you wonder how they survive. They have boats to charter and paddle boats and all that you would think would be good for a resort as a vacation spot. BUT... they don't cross market any of it. They should offer discounts to visitors to try the paddle boats or get a free appetizer at a local restaurant. So as a result, you get some people wandering around like they are lost. A village that completely shuts down about 9:00 on week nights. And the locals that show up on the weekend for the concerts on the lake. A few restuarants have managed to gain a loyal following from the local neighborhoods (SonRisa Grill, and Auld Dubliner), but that has been a tough road for them.
It is a beautiful area, I just wish they did more to make it fun to stay there...

Since the property drop in Las Vegas, Lake Las vegas has seen better days. The hotels and resorts are quite nice and pretty pricey. The golf courses are closed. The village is a nice place to walk around and have a bite to eat or a glass of wine. Check for local events as they have some fun ones.

Lake Las Vegas gives a sense of travelling to another country, but it's only minutes from Las Vegas. It is in the mountains, and the Village offers cute stores, paved walkways, gardens, and a view of Lake Las Vegas. There are often evening concerts and firework shows that are fun for everyone. If you need to cool off, you can go into Monte Lago to gamble or eat.

Not many shops open the day we went there. It really needs a facelift. Run down and golf course was empty.
